Yeah, the reporting of the economic conditions is the problem, not the economic conditions themselves. No one is wishing anything, as if wishing had some effect. I want to understand as much as I can, in this rapidly changing world, to be (hopefully) armed with some idea how to respond. There is a lot of reporting, and opinionating here and other sites, read it or don't.

Jep,
I think you missed my point- i'm not talking about any specific market, equities or otherwise, just some non-dollar vehicles once the inflection point of deflation passes. Now, having said that, some of those vehicles may well be stocks, may be yen, may be physical gold ( if any can be had ). Unlike picking a market bottom, a fools errand, I think it may be possible to see the deflation/inflation turn, at least to some degree. At least I'm hopeful, and looking for trends to follow. Any ideas?

Oh, also, can you recommend a basket of investment ideas when the inflection point comes? i'm thinking commodity companies, oil and oil service, some of the really beaten down chip stocks ( there is no inventory overhang this time, but still wonder about demand going forward ). Ideas?

Exactly my sentiments. I have been 100% cash since Nov. last year, and am reading everything I can daily to try and uncover trends that will point to the inflection point, when cash becomes trash. Andy, your articles on my watchlist- what will be the indicators that deflation-to-inflation inflection point has been reached? Thanks.
