The Case for Higher Interest Rates and Lower Home Prices [View article]
This author has serious brain damage with clear inability to integrate even a fraction of the ramifications of keeping interest rates stable. We're trying to avert deflation here and put a floor under falling prices. Lowering interest rates is the most powerful means at the treasury's disposal. Keeping them high will result further market depreciation, increased bank failures, more credit default swap payouts, even less retail spending, and the viscious cycle continues. This is just basic supply/demand economics which Scott here just doesn't seem to grasp. Back to school Scotto!
