In 1989, Roger founded SCM and began using his sector investing model, called “Classic Sectors,” to manage his clients’ assets. For over twenty years, Roger and his investment team at SCM have managed their clients’ portfolios in both rising and falling markets. Every quarter, Roger’s views on investing often appear SCM’s Dynamic Investor newsletter. He has also been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Investment News, BusinessWeek, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Futures Magazine and Marketpalce on National Public Radio. Roger is a member of the National Association of Active Investment Managers (NAAIM). My Investment Philosophy Wall Street has it wrong. Traditional buy-and-hold investing is too risky. Buy-and-hold may work in theory, but it fails in practice because it ignores the human factor. Investors simply cannot tolerate the extreme losses inherent in passive investing—eventually they throw in the towel. Today, there is no reason to expose your assets to full market risk. By managing your assets on a daily basis, Schreiner Capital Management offers a safer investment alternative. We move your assets out of areas that show weakness and into areas of strength. Through active asset management we can achieve higher returns with less risk. By remaining independent, we have no products to push or sales quotas imposed on us by a corporate office. Our success is entirely dependent on your success. We provide asset management and retirement planning to investors who truly appreciate the value of risk management.
