  • Rethinking Newspapers vs. the Internet [View article]
The internet is becoming the dominant medium, no question. It's faster, easier and more preferred. Already people can access it at anytime, virtually anywhere and do anything. Video, news, blogs, entertainment and advertising are available in one place. Newspapers have realized this, but haven't quite taken advantage of the whole idea. In the next few years, I would predict that websites will become increasingly more targeted to meet the needs of readers. There may be a few head honchos like Google that own a bunch of smaller sites though. Local coverage would be impossible for just one national server to accomplish, so we may see something like tv and radio stations under one umbrella, but still operating on a local level to provide info for that particular area.
