Goldman's Bet on the Housing Collapse: Back to Basic Instincts [View article]
To paraphrase Proverbs 22:29 in the context of GS and this article: "Evil men will control kings by screwing everybody." This is also Goldman Sachs' mission statement and organizational philosophy.

I doubled, took my profits, waiting to double again. SIRI has until March 2010 to re-establish $1+ share price. I think they can do it organically, but what about an M&A. DISH & DTV have expressed interest (through different approaches). Why?

I'm another who anxiously awaits blankfein's perp walk. It's like these thieves stumbled onto Joe Kennedy's market manipulation journal. But old Joe also created the SEC to stop others from the practice in the future. Hopefully the SEC will be allowed & willing to do their job if our National Socialist experiment fails.
In any event, I don't think GS is an immovable object and I don't think they can stop this train. I intend to take 1/3 of my profits off the table at $1 per, but i'll still hold a bunch.
By the way, when you see somebody at the table cheating, just bet with them. GS ain't that hard to figure out.

I really believe in this stock & have much. But forget radio; has anybody figured the value of the satellite capacity and specialized ground relay stations they own. Liberty Media (one of the largest holders of directTV) has sure been kind to buy up SIRI's debt, supposedly to foil DISH which was doing the same thing but in order to force a bankruptcy sale. These toys SIRI owns (satellite & ground relays) could also be used for HD portable satellite TV, music, PPV and interactive local info. How much would that alone be worth? Howard Stern ain't no $500M dollar man.

It seems to me the problem is that GS doesn't subsidize negative, honest books about itself. And it knows very well how to block honest books about itself. The person who publishes Goldman Sacks: The Culture of Excess wll be my hero.

Didn't Bernanke & Paulson say (to paraphrase) "first let's put out the fire, then go after the arsonists?" Did I miss something, or did they go after the arsonists to give them obscene bonuses?

The amex business model is based on idiots overspending in order to impress peasants they don't even know. Since the idiots have lost their homes in the spending contest, and the peasants, if they did notice the handsome centurion on the card, just laughed behind the fee payers' backs, Amex now has the market appeal of utters on a bull. Save your fee, go to the idiots' yard sales and buy some Izod shirts, showy gadgets, and maybe the whole house; all real cheap. And don't leave home with a long position.

I don't agree w/ everybody CDE does business w/ either...but Bolivia's coca-growing president certainly understands cash-up-front; at the same time he knows he could never gain the credibility to deal in the precious metals market. Just keep the hookers, stuffed envelopes & Fidel portraits flowing & I think we'll be fine. By the way, does the CIA only spy on and subvert america now? They cause recall elections against Chavez, all of which have turned into votes of confidence, that the man has a greater mandate than any american president since Washington.

I'm tired of seeing GS compared with MS, JPM, BAC, etc. When you think GS, think Gambino or Genovese, Nixon's frequent hosts at La Costa. GS got real class. Not like these other check-kiters & welfare cheats. Pretty Boy Lloyd is a man of respect!

I was the idiot who started acquiring Ericsson @ 0.72/sh in 2003 & continued buying even after their reverse split. Bluetooth paid for all of my 2005 & then some. SIRI @ 0.36/sh calls to my extreme stupidity. Daddy may not be able to afford the subscription it in his suburban combat vehicle anymore, but little sister's going to, OMG, have to have it on her igadgets soon.
