3 Predictions for PIMCO's ETF Launch [View article]
I'm baffled why there are not more corporate bond ETFs offered. The LQD is the only one I'm familiar with and it is has only long-term duration bonds. We need an intermediate-term corporate bond ETF.
Time to Forsake Stocks for Bonds? Arnott and Arends Square Off [View article]
I wish the sale of bonds were deregulated like equities have been for years. The commission rates for bond are just too high for me to buy individual securities over bond funds. So currently I'm stuck with LQD, AGG, and BND.
Cetin: "These stocks tend to go up all the time,...". Really? I thought investing was a little more difficult than that.
Otherwise, this article is extremely thought provoking and useful. It's one that I will keep and refer to often. Thanks, Richard for one of the best articles on moving averages I've seen.
I agree we need more bond ETFs. The blue chip long-term bond ETF, symbol LQD is great, but what about an intermediate-term version of this bond? This is an ideal time for introducing more of a selection of bond ETFs. The real yields are very attractive, inflation is not a problem (at least not for many months if not a couple of years), and equities at this point are highly unstable. In the municipal area, I believe there is also only long-term ETFs. Again, we need intermediate term muni ETFs also.

This excellent article points out the lack of non-treasury ETFs for the investor. The ratio of ETFs for equities vs. non-treasury bonds is excessively large and I hope it will be reduced in time.
Some Asset Managers Moving from Treasuries to Corporate Bonds [View article]
I appreciate the article by Dr. Enke, BUT I think this article is a little tardy. How any successful money/hedge fund manager would still have funds in treasuries is beyond me. Conversely, they would have to be absolutely asleep not to have already purchased a lot of corporate bonds. I am currently shorting treasuries and have positions in LQD and AGG.
15 Key Types of Bond ETFs: 2008 Review [View article]
There is just not enough corporate bond ETFs available. I own the LQD which is a long-term ETF - I want to own an intermediate-term bond ETF. Sorry, none are available for sale. In the equity world, there are hundreds of ETFs for all categories, but not so in the bond area. Please iShare, ProShares, or whoever, let's have some more corporate bond ETFs!

I hope Mr. Shaw could write a similar article describing the pros and cons of corporate bonds and funds. This was an excellent description of the muni market.
