  • IndexIQ Launches Two Inflation Hedge ETFs [View article]
What I don't like about GRES is their 2X short positions on the SP500 and EAFE. It works fine for one to two day intervals, but not a several day or several week or more time frame. I'm disappointed that they're using those leveraged short ETFs when the unleveraged would probably work better.

  • IndexIQ's New ETFs Offer Investors Two Ways to Hedge Against Inflation [View article]
The ETF - GRES is a very interesting concept...to be successful though, during a period of rising inflation, coupled with a stock market sell-off, the commodity stocks will have to have a relative performance advantage over the SP500. I'll have to do the research on this before I buy in on GRES.

Cetin: "These stocks tend to go up all the time,...".
Really? I thought investing was a little more difficult than that.

Otherwise, this article is extremely thought provoking and useful. It's one that I will keep and refer to often.
Thanks, Richard for one of the best articles on moving averages I've seen.
