    Cisco and IBM's move provide alternatives for all-in-one, off the shelf, virtualized data centre solutions in the on-going major transformation of data centres. Things are going to get very interesting with Cisco, HP, IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft in the near future as these companies jockey for their piece of the pie.

    I agree with the author that opportunities are opening for companies like Brocade (BRCD) or Juniper (JNPR) or F5 (FFIV) to be taped as part of these all-in-one data centre solutions.

    I was under the impression that HP was in the drivers seat with respect to its all-in-one virtualized data centre solution. Cisco's move into the server market would appear to be a major defection with respect to HP's vision. Any idea of what caused Cisco to decide to move into the server market? It seems a bit risky…
