I really wanted that IPAD air last Monday in Hong Kong but refrained from buying it because that would change my way of thinking (using and enjoying Apple products crucial as an extension of myself to buying Apple products not so much because I need to but just because I CAN).

Suddenly it dawned on me that when i return to the USA, I can upgrade to a smartphone (not the Nexus/Moto like I dream about), but despite me disdain and frustration over Windows OS products, buying an under $100 Nokia wouldn't violate my thinking.

I once swore off and raised high hel (letter writing campaign to NOK & MSFT) about Nokia's arrogant and deliberately rude non-customer service in Beijing and swore it off. But because they were (MUCH) cheaper and get the job done of making calls and SMS simply. I have since bought 2 Nokias.

So there Michael Blair, is my justification for buying a Win Phone OS because of its (by then LTE) cheapness and it ought to simply work making calls and SMS. Otherwise it would be so cheap under US$100 I can toss it for a $400 Nexus.

Apple products aren't priced as Rolex to Timex.

    Initial impressions
The new Mac Pro is a professional workhorse dressed up in a very appealing high-design package. It's a stretch to say this is a computer for casual consumers, but the starting price isn't more than you'd pay for a similarly configured Windows PC and the radically different design is cool enough to appeal to any design enthusiast who wants nothing but the best-looking, best-performing products.

" think some of these writers and commenters need to step away from their computers (iPhones?) for a day or two and get some fresh air."

Thanks for the hard data kid!

Also most commentators assume that Cn's phone subscription services are similar to that of the USA. In other words, those can also take their heads up ...

"China's quasi-capitalist economy is too young"

Or is the USA now also a quasi-capitalist economy?

I mention that because of all the social services wear down the tax base and the "legal protections", make it a not so Capitalist economy.

Great point to bring up Stephen!

Hubei is in Central Cn, think Missouri. So how would pollution get to Beijing?

I rode the high-speed rail RT btw Beijing and Shanghai 2 years ago. I will have to wait about 25 years later to do so in CA.

Academia has ever been attune to Cn's strides in alternative energy R&D though.
