Asustek facing component shortages, but no plans for notebook price increase
Asustek Computer will not increase prices of its notebook PCs for the time being, despite increased components cost due to tight supply, according to the company. However, the company is keeping an eye on pricing strategies of Hewlett-Packard and Acer, Asustek said.
Asustek is currently facing tight supply of optical disc drives, chipsets and 500GB hard disk drives, but the shortage is expected to recover by September, the company pointed out.
