Middle Kingdom Malaise? China's Latest GDP Figures

I was in China for two months prior to the Olympics. I could'nt help but notice all of the new commercial byuildings and shopping malls. I also notice they were almost all empty. China is not the consumer driven nation America is. It seems primarily supported by infrastructure development and spending on a unbelievable scale. Without the West's demand for Chinese imports I suspect China's growth will curtail even more then predicted.
