  • Congress to hold hearings on LNG exports [View news story]
another thing is LNG exporting in terms to state and state. The jones acts prevents foreign ships doing business for one state to another state. E.g., an Alaska company must export LNG to Oregon, or any other State, with a U.S. made ship that is capable of transporting LNG. An important fact. Currently there's no USA ship that is capbable of such a task. That I know of anyways.

lol at both of TFCAB and Robert's comments. I believe there could've been more blatant money laundering when Macau was its own country.

Well, I didn't know the "$" symbols don't work for stocks. Anyways, I assume you folks know that those letters after it are the ticker symbols. Folks, when I read comments for other blue stock companies, e.g., IBM, I commonly read of people holding stock for thirty years! I'm in position where I might very well hold Sands inc. for that long. Other names are like (CSC). I'm in a shareholder of company that has private jets that fly patrons, boats, a swimming pool on top of its casino property, malls, condos, hotels, a skywalk, MICE, people in gondolas in world's largest casino. Anyone see the Discovery Channel's "how it was made" tv episode when they build the Venetian Macau property?

And by no means was I trying to be inconsiderate of the demographics. Baccarat is a french developed game that was derived from an older game called pai gow tiles.

hahaah...I don't believe people will discontinue gambling. You're over-thinking/worrying it. I gamble to have fun. A casino in WA State, called Snoqualmie, is giving away 150K in prizes for the year of the horse celebration, including cash prizes as high as 10K, 2 cars, a paid trip to Hong Kong. As a card member I can enter this "raffle" by earning points from gambling. I played craps for 2 hours today! On Tuesday, I might play $BYI shufflemaster's pai-gow or dragon bonus baccarat (formerly shuffle master $SHFL). Play slots from $IGT $MGAM. I never really ever played William's slot games--never found a slot game appealing and just never gave one a try. And use Global Cash Access' $GCA ATM machine to cash my slot ticket.

If yall don't know $MGAM is coming out with some of the hottest games in Indian casinos; they're fun. If I would've made their games a proxy for their stock, I would've made a killing!

I lost, or paid, $43 for 2 hrs. of entertainment--and yes my money lasted that long. Smoked a Romeo y Julieta cigar, had a $8 duck banh mi sandwich and later a vietnamese espresso which was $4.5 (ouch!). The prize drawings are on 6th and 7th.

The Puget Sound area near Seattle has 4 huge Indian casinos and an Asian population. On the baccarat tables I'm guaranteed to see lots of Asians playing it. On most nights I see Europeans their too--they speak with a heavy accent so I know they're not American (born anyways). Some sound Slavic. Pakistani/Indian players and few young to mid age whites. I usually see the American whites play poker or blackjack or other table games. I bring my friends to the baccarat table and they always ask me "how do I play this"? :). DEQ entertainment has EZ baccarat proprietary table game.

BTW, did shuffle master lose its EGM market share in Macau? I know they went into a legal battle. Go Seahawks!

Thanks for the article. Always good to look at a macro view point then to look who has the biggest market share in Macau. Sheldon said he learned a lot in 2008 during the financial crisis. Macau is the only gambling destination in China. A Disney like theme park land is in the works which would be next to Macau.

  • Century Aluminum: Analyzing The Conflicting Trends [View article]
It appears that Century has been losing money operating the newly acquired Sebree smelter. http://bit.ly/1e9cJnW
I do remember reading from the Q-report in which Mr. Bless says that the moral was low in that smelter because people were worried about lay offs since Rio sold it. However, I do wonder if they're on the new market rate for electricity or still in the process.

yeah...I posted in an artlice on (LUK) that had a link to Leucadia's subsidary proposing for permits in Oregon. They're applying for a special econmic zone in that town. How much does shell/apache plan to export LNG when their Kitimat project is done?
