Largest holdings: JNJ, PEP, KO, T, CVX, XOM and PG. Very much an average Joe (Steve) who is now focused on retirement. I have worked in public safety in one form or another for the last 40 years. I was previously employed by a police agency in an administrative capacity. I retired in November 2014 after 22 years of employment with them. After floundering with investments for the last couple decades, I've finally found what seems to be a comfortable niche. In 2011, I began working my way into the world of dividend growth investing. I still have many things to learn but I think I have a basic grasp of the concept. I find myself astounded with the quantity and quality of the knowledge that is shared here on SA. Barely a day goes by that I don't learn something from those who so generously share their abilities and experience. I am grateful to them and hope that I can some day use my abilities to enlighten another reader or two.
Professionally, I have done a bit of everything in my long life, from playing rock and roll, to developing software, and running a successful entrepreneurial business. But I am best known as a writer of bestselling books about business and health. I write under a pseudonym here on Seeking Alpha because that way I know readers will evaluate my work strictly on the basis of what I actually said rather than who I am.
An independent investor. At age 56, I retired in 2015 and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead. After 34 years of working for a global Dividend Aristocrat and traveling internationally for the last 15 years, I now have the time to do the things I want to do on my schedule. From an investment standpoint I have been navigating the maze of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds for over 30 years and during that time I have learned a lot. Generally, it's been a good ride, and hopefully I have learned from my mistakes. I am currently focused on transitioning my existing stock portfolio to build out a DGI portfolio which will provide additional income in retirement. Current stock positions include: T, JNJ, GILD, MMM, BAC, USB, C, CMI, O, MBLY, PG, HD, XOM, AZO, BX, UNH, V, SWN, MO, GE, and FAST.
I am a long term investor looking for a secure dividend income. Self directed with exception of a few mutual funds. Not retired, but could be (65). Plan to work a little while longer. Goal is to continue to increase my dividend income trough reinvesting monies in same companies or better ones. I always want to learn more about investing.
