Extending the homebuyers credit beyond first time buyers just shifts taxpayer dollars to frequent flyers from those who choose to live in one place-- another resdistribution of wealth. Also I've read in the Economist and Time magazines surveys of first time purchasers indicate that a large percentage would have bought their homes regardless of the credits. And this doesn't even include the four year olds who claimed the credit.

JPM and GS are almost forced to take TARP funds, and now Obama and the professional pols won't let them pay it back without interfering with their compensation programs?? What arrogance by the administration considering the government cannot run anything without bankrupting the American taxpayer. Just another example of pandering to the uninformed masses about the "evil, greedy " rich.

What really scares me is this-- it's more likely than not that no one in our government (Bush's or Obama's, or our Congress) will take the time to really understand what is going on, and thinks that throwing huge amounts of money here and there (ransom) to the perpetrators of the problems will somehow end the crisis.
