Passing a 2000 page health reform bill (who knows what else is in it) so as to get home for the holidays. Hail to our professional pols-- their job is done! Reminds me of dogs who take a dump, and are so proud of themselves they jump up and down and run in circles.

JPM and GS are almost forced to take TARP funds, and now Obama and the professional pols won't let them pay it back without interfering with their compensation programs?? What arrogance by the administration considering the government cannot run anything without bankrupting the American taxpayer. Just another example of pandering to the uninformed masses about the "evil, greedy " rich.

Can a Stock Market Meltdown Happen from Here?

Obama is putting on a show for all the Amreicans who don't have a clue how big our deficits really publically calling for $100MM budget cuts. He should be eliminating entire departments instead of a few dollars in budgets, but won't do so because entitlement recipients are now in control of the government thanks to our professional politicians who pander to them for reelection at the expense of sound fiscal policy. Can anyone say, "Who is John Galt?"

Close to the End of the Selling Cycle

Trying to rationalize this irrational market is hopeless. I agree with prudentinvestor's comment. Better to wait for some ecomomic good news, and the uptick rule to be reinstituted.
