  • Why I Sold Coke and Bought Church & Dwight [View article]
Well what about the dividend income? Seems like you threw away a pretty good dividend in hopes of chasing some short term profit.

  • Why John Dorfman's Call on Apple Is Dead Wrong [View article]
Jealousy is the single most destructive force on the face of the earth. Anyone with half a brain can look at Apple's track record and learn that they are one of the most intelligent companies on earth. They produce products for people rather than producing products to sell. They have never operated on any principle other than "the better mousetrap". Their products are superior to competition and their service is the best in the world. I repeat, their service is the best in the world. As long as 5% of the consuming public wants the "best" then Apple will have a larger market than it can supply. A sure way to loose money is to bet against Apple!

  • Apple vs. Microsoft: Who Will Bring the Ideal Mobile Productivity Device? [View article]
When has Microsoft ever offered anyone a successful device. They work on the Microsoft paradigm (our software is the best and everyone has to use it). Devices aren't software and Microsoft knows nothing about devices. As of yet they have not even been able to sustain a marketing activity for any device. It isn't in the gene pool!

  • Expect Coke's Stock to Rise over the Next Five Years [View article]
Let us pray that increases in KO aren't due to the devaluation of the US dollar.

  • Goldman or Apple: Which Will Hit $200 First? [View article]
Goldman will hit $200 first simply because they create nothing and have the ability to steal from everyone. These SOBs invented the financial instruments that came close to bankrupting the world. Apple is an honest company. They actually produce a product, they deal in consumer satisfaction and deliver great products.

  • Stock Up on Dr Pepper [View article]
In many cases Dr Pepper is distributed by the Coke or Pepsi bottler. It is consider a plumb flanker product and either of the beverage giants would love to own Dr Pepper, if the Feds would let them buy.
Dr Pepper's sales organization was considered top notch by the staff of KO and Pepsi. Their leadership was legend. If Dr Pepper hasn't been diluted too much by Snapple, Schweppes, RC personnel that were absorbed over the years then personnel should not be a problem. I call this a good play, unless you are expecting the economy to crash & I am!

  • Apple Could Add New U.S. Carriers Within a Year [View article]
OK get your Verizon IPhone and be teathered to the USA. The Verison system is not international so be aware that if you plan to do any traveling that you better leave your Verizon IPhone at home.

  • What’s Really Going on with Apple, Google, AT&T and the FCC [View article]
So when did anyone acquire the right to tell Apple how to run it's company. How much Apple stock do you own. I think so many living in our country don't understand the basic tenants of capitalism that they actually believe that every company is owned by the welfare department. If you don't like Apple, don't buy their products. I vote with my wallet every day. Why do you spend all your time whinning about much that is little consequence? What are you doing for others? Wouldn't it benefit all more if you spent a little time mentoring underprivileged kids or working in a soup kitchen?

  • Amazon's Gain: Sony Gives Up Trying to Establish Own e-Book Format  [View article]
Beta Max, Memory Stick, This is Sony's history. Sony has consistently sought to force consumers to buy Sony specific peripherals. In most cases this has ended up costing Sony
consumer good will if not business. Maybe this is a indication that someone at Sony has finally seen the light .

  • What Your TiVo Was Missing, Ads from Best Buy [View article]
I think this is a great idea as long as TIVO builds in the option to turn it OFF. Best Buy already has a quasi monopoly in most of the country. Having recently gone through an "issue" with Best Buy I would suggest to them that they can do more for their business by training their personnel and to actively support the items they advertise in their sales flyers by making sure the items are in inventory and making sure that the advertised products are clearly marked as "featured in this weeks flyer". Best Buy has a unique opportunity to dominate their segment . This will require work, and tricks like this TIVO proposal will only come back to damage Best Buys relationship with the consumer. The relationship with the consumer is the ONLY thing that matters. Best Buy has gone to great expense to train customer service representatives to handle customer complaints. My Question is why invest in these people instead of insisting on getting it right the first time.

  • Palm Pre Sales Tapering Off; Roger McNamee Eating Crow on iPhone Prediction [View article]
Anyone with Palm stock should look at any spike as a sell opportunity. "Too little too late" comes to mind. If there is a battle it is between Apple and RIM. Palm hasn't been a factor in years, has no cache, little brand recognition with the younger set and I haven't seen one advertisement. What does it do, why should I buy? Mcnamee can't be faulted for pushing the stock, but we can look at him and surmise his opinions are of little value. I bet he's selling!

  • Apple Looking into Building Its Own Chips [View article]
Apple continues to prove that vision coupled with in house development can result in market dominance. Look at the competition (Microsoft). They have the uncontested reputation of providing the world with product that is broken when new. If Apple really cared about dominating the PC market they would license their OS. Can you imagine anyone buying a Microsoft product if an Apple OS was available for a $20 premium. Within 2 years no one would be using MS software.

  • Apple’s iPhone App Refund Policies Unfair to Developers [View article]
Application writers should spend a few cents on marketing. Dissatisfaction usually results when a consumer isn't satisfied. They typically are not satisfied when an App doesn't do what they think it is supposed to do. A better job describing the applications capabilities on the front end might help the App writers. However, I do think 90 days is a bit much. If you don't like an App, you know in 14 days. I think a scaled refund policy on third party Apps should apply. If Apple wants to provide 90 days on their Apps, that's fine, but they should provide a little more protection for third partys. They might want to peanilize (money back + 10%) if an App is returned in 7 days - this would encourage very accurate App descriptions by developers, maybe even with warnings saying what the App won't do!

  • iPhone at Wal-Mart? Steve, Say it Aint So! [View article]
Folks, I hate to be the one bringing you the news but WalMart is THE retailer in the USA. Unless you are a boutique product, if you aren't in WalMart you aren't in business. Much of Walmarts competition is spiraling downward as the consumer age ends. Jobs is just doing what Jobs always does - making a move no one expected and turning the market upside down.

  • Overall, Fundamentals Are Still Deteriorating  [View article]
I checked out your note about the loss of jobs and Coca-Cola (KO) and found no significant mention of job cuts by KO. So me Coca-Cola bottlers announced targets. Pepsi Cola did announce major job cuts a few weeks back. I would
encourage you to check your facts. You are not dealing with peoples emotions (like Jason Blair) you are providing information that can influence peoples investments.
