New OIL fields are being discovered all the time! In fact Saudi Arabia is bringing a new field online that is the largest they have ever found in their country! In the US alone.....there is a tremendous amount of Oil that is just sitting in wells that have been capped! I won't even get into the Oil Shale deposits and what they could yield. You do mention one very important fact though....the tax levied on gasoline by the U.S. Government is disgusting in and of itself. Agree with your reasons. I believe Blank is pretty well known on these forums for pretty much trashing SIRI at every opportunity and giving it backhanded compliments like he did today! Also alot of the negative sentiment is due to the company being sooo uncooperative with sharing ANY information about the financial situation. The growth of this company needs to be tied into shared applications with existing and new equipment being developed in order to not pidgeon hole itself by forcing subs into purchasing user specific equipment just for SATRAD. We all know there is a chance that Bankruptcy could happen...but given the circumstances of the past few months, I for one do not believe it is happening any time soon, and alot of my reasons for feeling that way are in your post above, as well as some other posts I've read here at Seeking Alpha. Maybe I'm missing something......but with financial institutions swapping SIRI/XM debt notes for stock recently, wouldn't that suggest they see or know something positive that would make them willing to trade those debt notes for shares? I think you are definitely on to something there. It won't fix the other issues but it will go a long way toward improving company revenue because i think it would in fact bring more folks into SATRAD. BTW....I don't think we are waiting on bad news. No one really knew how bad things were going to get, and SIRI has been beaten to a pulp and then some. I don't think it would be as low as it is right now if the overall market hadn't taken such a beating, though it would still be well below where it should be or needs to be to turn around! I imagine that you bought with the idea of selling at some point...but were not in any hurry to do so, because you had faith in the company and believed you bought something that was valuable and would appreciate over time. I know that was my reason for buying the first time. I will tell you that I sold the first time at an 80% return on my original investment in Sirius. I too am now averaged down to about .29 cents a share. I intend to purchase several thousand more shares to lower my cost even more, and ultimately sell about half of it at a profit, keeping the other half as a long term purchase. I believe in this company, I believe in the business, I think they need to re adjust in a couple of areas, mostly on the marketing side, and they need to do some strategic partnering. I would love to see them partner with Microsoft and be able to stream SATRAD through an XBOX. Don't know if that will happen, but I am looking to the future on this one as well as some instant gratification.
