  • Two Ways to Invest in Gold Miners: ETF vs. Mutual Fund [View article]
ASA sounds good! Thanks. Also, would like to know of any *safe* alternative investments to play both ends of the field and NOT get "whipsawed." Any well thought out and substantiated ideas out there?

Also-- somewhere I read that when something goes sideways for awhile, and has taken a good, long correction, that it is time to buy.

But again-- I am just operating under a learner's permit!

  • Crude Reality: How Long Can Oil Stay Down? [View article]
My understanding is that oil is typically best traded for a couple of months every year: February - April is it?

I also hear rumours of war, which can change everyone's opinion of oil overnight. I am waiting to see what happens on the heels of O taking office, and ready to deploy cash as needed.

Could come up again as fast as it came down. And all this w/o any fundamentals-- or me with any real understanding of anything!

  • World Bank Publishes Procurement Blacklist [View article]
    Author Question:
Is this a play one could make that these three (or many more) companies will now do poorly? How would one best do that? I'm learning.

  • What Is Going On With Gold? [View article]
Gold-backed currency is no longer fiat. The reason: like booze, or cigarettes, it has always had barter value. And it has something else, magical, historical, that says it is the best kind of proxy for value.

It is something man has to find, that even a single man with a pickaxe and a pan can still find. The California Motherlode is coming alive again, with men completely down on their luck laying it all down to buy a small piece of ground, an old staked out, but not played out, mine.

Gold has properties that draw us to it that we aren't even conciously aware of. In alternative medicine, gold and silver are deeply healing, have an energy.

Colorful designs on paper just don't have juice.

  • Marc Faber on the Economy, Gold, WWIII [View article]
Our biggest bad was not acting when we could have. All these messes stem from not paying attention to the wolf watching the chicken coop, so long as we were pitched a free meal ticket. The Boston Tea Party was over 10 cents man. They gave no ground. WE lost that ground, likely because of some feeble self-interest.

I see already, the need to receive deeper correction --ourselves. We fiddled while Rome burned. Had bread and circuses.

Fiat $ selfishness always dies hard. Generosity of spirit is our saving grace. Together we can do what alone we cannot.

  • Will We See Inflation or Deflation? [View article]
All I can truly hang onto is the Bible reference to it taking a wheelbarrow full of gold to buy a loaf of bread. So eventually, or sooner, inflation.

  • The Problem with GLD and SLV ETFs [View article]
I, too, have read the prospectus / contract on SLV, which I hold. But it scares me. Of course, so do any of the other options with the physical, whether vaulted or not! I called the SLV people personally, and they said that only parties holding 500,000 shares could take physical delivery of the bullion. Just adding my two cents.

  • Peter Schiff: Outlook for the Gold Market [View article]
The dark side's goal is to have the Amero as the replacement currency for the dollar. I am guessing that confiscated gold will back it up.

One must realize that "the fixers" do not intend to "fix" anything. For world leaders -- not to call names or anything, but let's call a spade a spade -- we have a bunch of ego-driven, selfish-beyond-words, deeply-twisted, inhumane and elitist, power-mongering devil-worshippers at the helm.

These power-brokers just want what they want: self-interest, power, and control. The base, dark-side of humanity, misled and mistaken. Surely won't make 'em happy, no matter what they can buy, steal, kill, or control.

The wheat and tares have grown up side by side. Just so there is no confusion about things.... This ain't just about the world economy. It's about good and evil, and overcoming the world, as our Lord did.

The good news is that every extreme has its equally powerful opposite, and good is far, far more powerful than evil, ultimately.

Not to be too flip about what we have to go through, but God and good -- and even gold -- do win in the end. Play for the winning team!
