Four Dying Silicon Valley Companies

AMD...anyone who knew how to build their own PC's, for others, and even commercial gaming rigs picked AMD over Intel as the AMD chips were much better for overclocking than Intel based on how they were made, i.e. Intel chips were rated based on temperature their processing speed with almsot no overhead, whereas AMD left more of a buffer zone between max temperature and its appropriate processor speed.
Thus, you had a heat threshold buffer galore on the AMD chips, which not only was a benefit to overclockers, but to the general public in the form of reliability, performance, and durability over Intel.
Unfortunately, "the herd", i.e General Public is fixated on "WinTel", i.e. Untel and MS Windows. Thus, even when a superior product was out there for less, they chose inferior, based on a well known and almost single brand name as the choice for all the reasons: Perception, Marketing, Brand Name recognition...but then again, is not perception reality?

I like your video of the "Herd" of mindless drones charging into Best Buy like the idiots they are. It is this same herd that invests based on panics and euphoria. I wonder what teh herd will do now that we see headlines that say we are now "officially" in a reccession....surprise... you and I already knew that, but the dumb herd will be panicing as if this is some prophecy of doom from above...anyway, i am enjoying your articles as usual. FYI, had to cancel my sub to your website...send me an email and I will tell you why....hint...get a new webmaster.

Especially after being burned on NG which a different columnist was bullish on and then AFTER it announced bad news and fell like a rock, he changed to bearish....gee...anyon... can do that!

NovaGold Dangerously Close to Broke

Analyst Paolo Lostritto of Wellington West Capital Markets wrote that the future actually looks promising for NovaGold Resources Inc. (NG) in an article on this website...Does he still haev a job?
