Things Could Be Worse...

I have been working in engineering for about 15 years here in silicon valley.My observation is that executives have squeezed every last ounce of profit from companies by doing stuff over seas. The idea being we can juice profits now and the heel with the future. Kinda like the angelo mozillo model or the high profit hummer model by detroit. I think the short sightedness has finally come homw to roost. first manafacturing, then call centers, then engineering have gone overseas. I have racked my brain for years trying to figure out how we could sustain this. I think with the advent of the internet, education of people around the world we have come to a major turning point. We need to refocus and retrench for a while the global economy gets balanced. when our wages come down a bit we can start doing a little more here to compete.
