I suspect that for many people, medical privacy is a burden. Example, the elderly mother of a friend was admitted to a hospital on the other side of the country. My friend was unable to get information about her own mother's condition, circumstances of admittance etc. etc. I, for one, would be happy to have service described available along with a waiver of current and future privacy laws. Having all my relevant medical data in one place which could be accessed with a few key strokes would be far more valuable to me than a thicket of privacy laws.

This article is absurd. It makes the Democrats' argument for them; ie, there is no justification and all the proponents can do is assert the desired conclusion. Are these guys going to quit the business in a huff? And if they do, so what? Who gets hurt? Are these guys performing a service to society worth rewarding? Open your eyes to damage they have done!
