  • F-35 contract talks on hold [View news story]
Since the engine built by P&W is Government Furnished to Lockheed doesn't that put the Government on the hook for any additional costs incurred by Lockheed by reason of this delay?

  • Dimon says he has curable throat cancer [View news story]
I had the same diagnosis back in 1986 it's a bi-- but it's survivable. Be advised Mr Dimon that the Radiation will kill your salivary glands and you will need to practice oral hygiene beyond your wildest dreams because then teeth will suffer terribly if you do not do so. Your doctors should council you after treatment is completed. PS I was a non smoker, non alcoholic just unlucky as my ENT told me. Good luck and keep a positive attitude.

  • 3 Thoughts On Ukraine [View article]
China is watching the worlds reactions to Russia's incursion into the Ukraine for several reasons. China is already flexing it's muscles in the far east by attempting to reclaim, as China sees it, territorial rights in Japan, Korea, the Philippines and elsewhere. Another reason is Siberia which has a large population of Chinese and more importantly vast amounts of natural resources that are scarce in China. Siberia and China share a common border and as China strengthens it's military it could pose a threat to do to Russia what Russia is doing in the Ukraine today and what it already did in Georgia.

If they are leaving because of the subsidies they get to pay for Obama care what does that say about Obama care and where does the money come from if not the subscribers.

  • 2 Big Banks To Own In 2014 [View article]
Did any of these banks understand what they were getting into before acquiring these failing entities. Did they perform a due diligence before signing up to buy them and, if so, did they understand the risks they were taking on or did the government blindside them. In any case they should have known better and negotiated immunity for themselves for eventually what happened.

  • Lockheed Martin: Growing With Its Aeronautics Segment [View article]
The Lockheed 1011 was their last venture into commercial aviation. At the time it was a technically superior airplane compared to the then 707, DC10 and 8 but never was able penetrate the market to the extent Boeing and Mac Dac was able to do. They should stick with what they know best as they are currently doing-great company with a great management team.

  • Potential South Korean Order To Expand Lockheed's F-35 International Client Reach [View article]
I understand very well the reasons for Japanese expansion in the Pacific at the beginning of the 20th century and the war that followed, but that was then and this is now. Japan like Germany was influenced by the military powers that took over control of their respective governments and there is very little chance of that happening today. The greater threat today and in the future is China and North Korea and it must be dealt with diplomatically first, however, it should be backed up with a strong defensive posture. Yesterdays enemy is todays ally just look at Viet Nam as they draw closer to the USA and farther away from China who they already had a minor war with in the 70s over a territorial dispute. China is ramping up its armed forces with new aircraft, an aircraft carrier, command control and advanced communication systems I think that's for more that just showing the flag.

  • Potential South Korean Order To Expand Lockheed's F-35 International Client Reach [View article]
It's about time South Korea and Japan step up to the plate and start spending more that 1% of their GDP on defense. They live in a dangerous part of the world and must take on more responsibility for defending their homeland rather than depending on us doing it for them.

  • Canada at crossroads as pipeline opponents keep up the pressure [View news story]
More wind power so we can kill thousands of endangered bird species. Duke energy just got hit with a whopping fine for all the Golden Eagles their windmills killed. I hope this means that the Fed will go after all the others who are slaughtering thousands of birds each year with those unsightly, noisy contraptions.
