  • Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [View article]
What blew it for Michigan unions is when they got greedy and put forth a proposition that would have made collective bargaining part of the state constitution. That went down in defeat by an overwhelming majority, only receiving 42% of the electorate voted for it. This then opened the door for the Republican Governor and state house to start the RTW law which was signed into law. The consensus of opion is that if the unions had not overreached with their attempt to revise the state constitution this never would have been signed off by the governor.

  • The Pentagon has refrained from authorizing a plan for operational testing of Lockheed Martin's (LMT) F-35 program, Reuters reports, with officials expressing frustration at the pace of development in a "very painful" review on Friday. Of particular concern are the problems afflicting the F-35 helmet, which is being developed by  Rockwell Collins (COL) and Israel's Elbit Imaging (EMITF). [View news story]
This helmet is more than just a helmet its a critical component of the weapon system enabling off axis firing of missiles. PS don't blame Lockheedjust like the engines this is a Government Furnished Item (GFE). Any delays caused by the government in furnishing GFE enable LMT to file a claim for compensation for the effect of the delay on the company and its subcontractors.

  • Another Test Of The Banking Lobby's Powers [View article]
" Average foreclosure in New York now comes YEARS after homeowner quits making payments" and all the while the homeowner gets to live in his home rent free, does not pay property taxes and, if applicable, homeowner fees. In my community homeowners did this for as long as three years and when they were finally evicted they either trashed the house or stripped it of appliances, palm trees, iron gates and anything else they could carry. The banks in many cases gave these homeowners mortgages when the shouldn't have, liars loans, many homeowners put little or nothing down, teaser loans, and paid the interest only, others used their home as an ATM to buy new cars and/or motor homes and boats. I have no sympathy for any of these people but I do have for the guy who through no fault of his own, job loss, lost his home to foreclosure those are the ones we should be helping not the ones who gamed the system, Same goes for the banks and mortrgage companies who aided and abetted this debacle they should be tried convicted and hung all in the same day.

  • Anti-Hype In Lithium-Ion Batteries Foretells Doom For Electric Cars [View article]
I thank you for the info I read the article and it certainly doesn't present a pretty picture about re cycling all the old batteries from all these cars, I guess the garbage dump they use for disposing all these batteries can be converted to golf courses at the end of the dumps useful life.

  • Anti-Hype In Lithium-Ion Batteries Foretells Doom For Electric Cars [View article]
I dutifully read all the posts regarding this controversial subject and did not read anything about disposal of all these batteries at the end of there useful life. How is this to be handled and who pays since a battery contains hazardous materials you can't just toss it out especially when it weighs several hundred pounds. Just asking.

Obama gave Jon Corzine a big hug and called him the smartest man he ever knew while taking a campaign donation of $500,000 for his re-election. In the meantime Corzine and MF Global was screwing it's investors, what does that say about Obama and the Democrats. Look Dems or Republicans they are all part of the same hypocrisy and in November we voters will have an opportunity to speak out, the question is will we do it.
