    discrepancy between index and etfs: S&P 500 up 1%, SPY up .4%, SSO up more than 2%. Why?

    • JCH57: Index funds have both a NAV component, as well as a bid/ask component. I.e., sometimes people will pay more than underlying NAV.

    • TheRocketTrader: I think SPY went ex-dividend - so compared to yesterday's close it is up only .4%, but it is up greater in reality
