Wal-Mart (WMT -0.3%) may be losing sales due to a thin workforce unable to keep store shelves stocked, according to a growing number of anecdotal reports from unhappy shoppers. While the company increased its store count 13% over the last five years, the number of employees fell 1.4% - leading to less customer service and some stores tipping toward the disorganized side. It's a trend that may be working in the favor of Costco (COST +0.2%) and Target (TGT -0.3%). [View news story]
The Wal-mart near me is always understock. Many items I buy repeatedly are never instock. The inexpensive razors I buy (similar to Gelette Trac 2, have been unavailable for at least 2 weeks. They are always out of the 64 oz V-8 juice, even the deli continuously runs of of certain items. The other nearest store which is 17 miles one way from my house is never out of stuff and they have lots of help in the deli and at the check-out.
Coca-Cola (KO) is reasonable valued after taking into account the company's strong financials, according to SA author Stock Gamer. Though growth numbers trail beverage peers, Coca-Cola's ability to outperform on margins sets it apart. The take on KO: Shares should be accumulated for stable income and "gradual" capital appreciation. [View news story]
I believe in Coke's ability to continue to deliver increasing dividends and along with that a steady increase in value. Continue to buy on dips or drip, or monthly investments of averaging.

Coca-Cola (KO -0.5%) CEO Muhtar Kent downplays the effect that spiking corn prices will have on its costs, pointing out that both sugar and aluminum are important commodity expenses. Despite the bravado, the impact of the historic rise in corn prices can't be ignored with hedging strategies pushed to the max. [View news story]
I see the rising commodity having little effect on Ko profits, dividends or stock price.
Why Coca-Cola Is Worth $70 Per Share [View article]
I do not know when they researched for this article, but it seems to be outdated as KO is pushing at $80. The only way it will hit $70 again is after the split, it will eventually rise back to $70 some time in the future. I am long on KO and WMT which is also on a tare and another hold and reinvest stock. I am also confident that Microsoft will continue to be a buy, hold and reinvest the dividends stock. I am retired and most of my investments are at a brokerage in an IRA, but I also maintain a small Scottrade account the I personally control and I am long on the above three plus Intel. I sell covered calls to increase the annual rate of return..

If you are planning to wait for a lower entry point that may not be in the cards. Coke just beat estimates on earnings. It could drop below $77 but $75 in doubtful.
Why Coca-Cola Is Worth At Least $95 Per Share [View article]
I bought Walmart at the end of May for 58.75 and who would have thought it went up to $66 in less then two week and then passed $70 and knocking on the door of $75 in such a short time perios. So KO at $95 is not impossible, but I hope it takes two years or more.

I do not think it should affect your decision either way. Buy if you like the stock and want to keep it for a long term investment. Do not buy if you are an active trader.

I do not see a PE of 20 as a positive thing. Since I do not plan on selling an KO the stock price has little meaning to me. Because I do sell covered calls I hope that only a slow steady increase in stock price prevails as I would not want to be forced to sell. Current strike price for me is $82.50 and I do not want to reach that price before expiry.
