  • Sirius Keeps Improving Satellite Radio for Consumers and Investors Alike [View article]
Hey Semprarectum...what kind of comment is that anyway? First of all, I'm neither a fan or enemy of Brandon or any other writer. I really don't spend enough time reading these posts...

However, after reading this article and then reading your hateful outburst including a POS reference, i would have to say that you're quite the moron.

Brandon's headline comments on Sirius just getting better and better for customers. I was an XM 5 or 6 years ago and i've now been a Sirius sub for about the last three years. Not only has Sirius expanded the number of channels and unique content offerings, but now you're able to listen online, on your iphone and soon use your iphone as a satellite receiver, getting even more stations. It's a little more expensive, but there are far more options and a much better entertainment level now than 3-5 years ago.

My guess is you are upset about a couple of things...first, you were a subscriber and they either took away a favorite channel of yours or raised the rates and for one or both of these reasons you're a little upset...boo hoo. For all that cry over a buck or two increase, go get a part-time job a McDonald's to cover it...it's still the best bargain around.

Secondly, you probably purchased gobs of Sirius stock 3 or 4 years ago and you're still ions away from breaking even and you were so pissed at Sirius that you didn't buy any over the last year.

Bottom line, if you have a difference of opinion, that's fine. Voice it...but don't say a writer is a liar and call him a Piece of Shite just because you don't agree...for that you're the biggest loser here. Happy Monday to you Mr. my opinion is KING! Haha...

    To Siri-Doom...

You're a moron...you're a basher...you sit around on your fat ass all day and spew negativity...on a 1.5 - 2 billion revenue company that is poised to pop when the auto industry pops. Why don't you get up, take a shower and go outside away from your little dungeon of despair.

The funny thing is nobody ever mentions the cost per sub decreases over the last couple of years...truly staggering reduction in the cost per sub...huge savings. It used to be over $100...now it's close to $50...only estimates since i'm not up on every single number like siri-moron...

So...while the world has been crumbling, SIRI has been building a stronger, leaner machine to take orders on all those new cars and enjoy the added benefits of having the best satellite in orbit now...

Nowhere but up...go away siri-doom loser...

  • Next Leg of Growth for Sirius XM [View article]
Ok....HERE is the promotion that they need...Sirius Saturdays!! Sat is for Satellite and Saturday. All inoperable receivers will work as normal paid subs receivers every Saturday. Advertise it on TV and internet...Yahoo/Google, etc.

Then keep these free Saturdays going all summer...I bet you a buck that at least 1 or every 20 people will end up subscribing because they love that Saturday satellite radio!! Come on...this is an awesome idea if it's technically possible.

Of course the ad-supported idea is good as well...with one problem. If there are too many ads, they listener won't be able to get a good idea of what they're missing...unless they have SatRad Saturdays!!

    Thoughts?!?

  • Positioning Sirius for an Eventual Economic Turnaround [View article]
Pmac...your just flat wrong. It seems by your comment that you are not a subscriber. If you were, you would understand the power of SiriusXM...the loyalty of the shareholders comes from their pure satisfaction with the product. I switched from XM to Sirius when Howard started...i had never had access to Howard on a daily basis. To be honest, he's way past his prime...pretty boring usually...not that great a show. However, i would never leave SXM because of the amazing music with no commercials and the ability to listen to news, talk, sports at a much higher quality level and less commercials than regular junk FM.

If Howard leaves, I assure you the cancellations will be minimal. And it would be a great money move considering what we wouldn't have to pay his ass on a yearly basis. He's way overrated...way, way overrated.

    Cheers from KC...

  • uSirius iPhone Application Is Denied [View article]
ENOUGH ABOUT THE IPHONE! I have an Itouch! The songs don't work on my hard drive...they are too expensive at .99 cents and there's no randomness. Everyone acts like the iphone is the end-all. It's the typical boring americans that follow apple like lemmings. Yes, i bought one, checked it out and don't feel they are worth the money and they don't work that well...way over-hyped. Satellite Radio as a stand-alone technology is FAR SUPERIOR...can you get live streaming CNN News, CNBC, Comedy Channels galore...Playboy, Stern and dozens of music at the push of a button on an IPHONE? Or should you drive 75 mph and try to slide your finger back and forth looking for your special tunes...or trying to open cnn.com to read...oh wait, you need internet.

My god...enough with the IPHONE...if you have an iphone and no satellite radio, you are truly in the stone age.

Satellite radio is the best new techonology in the last 10 years in my opinion...FM blows, Iphone is expensive and difficult to handle in a vehilce. LONG SIRI...

  • Sirius XM Releases 5-Year Guidance: Aggressive or Conservative? [View article]
BTW...keep in mind that current numbers assume 50% install in new cars. I would guess that by 2013, that number will be up to 60-70%. I would think some day all cars will have SAT RAD installed. Decades ago, a few cars came out with AM radio...then FM...next thing you know it was as common as brakes and steering wheels...

Imagine in 10 years, every car has SATRAD, push to buy song button, internet capability more TV Channels...SATRAD will also make BLT's in the future...yummy...good stuff.

  • Will Positive Sirius News Be Enough to Offset Damage from Auto Bankruptcies?  [View article]
Wow...i've never seen so many idiotic comments...for those of you that have commented above, for the most part you're pretty pathetic...name-callin... for comments from know-it-all users...wow...too bad. I really feel like i'm reading some sort of grade school newspaper.

Let's get down to it...bottom line...the ENTIRE PLANET is screwed right now...has been for over a year. So...nothing counts now. Sit on what you have...buy when you feel frisky and do what feels right. SXM isn't going anywhere...i drove 335 sales miles today...one of my longer drives...and without Sirius...i wouldn't have made it...Octane...CNN...FO... cannot be replaced on ANY FM station...iPhone...yea... get a couple of adds...some new dollars in our pockets. But i'm guessing the auto industry will sell cars some day...unless the Segway market is the next big investment. Hold tight...SIRI will be fine...and SCREW Jay Bob Suzy...

  • Sirius XM's Long-Awaited Apple App: Is Today the Day? [View article]
Yeah...did anyone see Howard? He just won't shut up....Dave couldn't even ask him any questions. He was funny, i'll admit, but you've got two ears and one mouth for a reason. The dumbass didn't even mention the Apple App...as a matter of fact, he barely mentioned SXM at all...pretty pathetic. He's funny, but WAY overrated...i listen to him for an hour a month. What happened to the sexy Howard. He's like Larry King now...and Larry is on CNN...so we have two Howards on SXM...

  • RBC Capital Anticipates 'Dismal Subscriber Trends' for Sirius XM [View article]
    BCharger -

Get ur head out of your arse...you don't know what your talkin' about. SIRI is the second best technology in the last five years, second to the iPhone. I just got the iPhone...amazing...but... know what my uneducated friend? I still use my SIRI almost the ENTIRE time i'm in my vehicle. It's better, it's easier, it's a great service. Already 19,000,000 subs...wait five years until they figure out home service and the auto industry comes back...we will be at 25,000,000 soon. You're a dope...they don't want it, huh? Right...

  • Why the Spike in Sirius XM's Short Interest? [View article]
    Brandon-

As mentioned before, very timely article. I, too, noticed the short increase and scratched my head. I don't understand shorts completely, but I do know that they are betting on the sp going down...and this stock price has went up about 600% in the last qtr...

Hopefully other comments are correct in saying it's a bit normal to have this much short...down from previous highs...and still a small proportion of total shares outstanding...

Automakers...sell those cars! Siruis, sell those home units! And get Howard to renegotiate for $1 for the next 5 years...hmmm...that would average out to $50 million a year for 10 years, right...still pretty good. :-)

    Cheers from KC...

  • Sirius XM Releases 5-Year Guidance: Aggressive or Conservative? [View article]
Okay, this is definitely worst case scenario in these numbers. Remember that Mel said 50% of new cars NOW have SAT Radio and 50% of the purchasers of the cars end up signing up to the service. Even at a low number of 12mill cars/year, that's 3 mill subscribers. Of course, we are going to start overlapping...people buying new cars that already subscribe, but this is 3 million not even including retail purchases at Best Buy, etc.

In a year or so, when car sales are back up to 14-16milliion, that will be 3.5 to 4 million/year subscribers right there...minus say a third for people that already subscribe...easily 2.5 million/year from autos alone. So that's 10mill in 4 years...by beginning of 2013, 10mill + additional 500Kyr at BestBuy, etc = 2 mill more...

Mel, I think it's going to be more like 30 Million by early 2013. This doesn't even factor in additional gains by new technology in the next several years, etc.

That's my take on it. I think MEL is being VERY CAUTIOUS...I've owned Sat Radio for about 5 years now...first XM, then SIR...it's not going anywhere. It's fantastic. You can't listen to live CNN on your IPOD...IPOD's suck anyway...i can't even get my ipod music onto my hard drive in my JEEP. SAT RADIO is here to stay...what an amazing service to keep my sanity as the DJ "wanna be comedians" blab on...

    Cheers MEL! Cheers SAT RAD!
