  • Update: Wal-Mart Impresses The Street, But Not Us [View article]
I have heard negative talk about Wal-Mart the store and WM the stock for years now, some of it backed by statistics and educated guesses and some just because they are jealous or don't like the company, but they somehow just keep on making money.

When you have disgruntled employees making minimum wages, no health insurance because you can only work part-time, very low staffing, and high expectations from their employees, you get a bad formula for success of a company. It also increases the amount of thefts because there are now employees who have to cover at least two departments leaving many departments without anyone to deter shoplifters.

  • Never Quit Growing: Philip Morris International's EPS Are Still Rising [View article]
The title of this article "Never Quit Growing" is interesting. When I first started smoking I was told that the only consequence was that it would stunt your growth. I was 6'2" at the time so I wasn't concerned. I've learned a lot since then about the true health hazards from smoking. Of course, this doesn't mean much to those who are looking to benefit from the demise of others.

  • Is Wal-Mart A Buy Right Now? [View article]
Most of the negatives that we hear about WMT originate from the unions who have been trying to infiltrate the company for years with no success. People who say they hate WMT continue to shop there and this trend has been evident for many years. They will be just fine.

  • After Earnings Miss, Wal-Mart Should Buy Whole Foods [View article]
Kinda hard on a very successful business aren't you? I worked at Walmart for several years and I enjoyed it. Yes, I was part of management, but that doesn't make me their B@%^$, whatever that means. When you try to put them in a box tell the world that they "destroy small businesses" and that "everyone you know that worked at Wal-mart hated it, then you're trying to get everyone to see it as you do. A narrow view point at best. You should try to be more professional with your comments.

  • Obama photo op at Wal-Mart goes sideways [View news story]
Unions, who obtained their political power from union dues, hate Walmart so they will do anything to keep them from getting any good publicity.

  • Wal-Mart Stores Inc. - Its Final Days [View article]
With their current emphasis on international expansion I see that your list of stores does not include China. You reported several numbers with regard to current stores in different countries and there were roughly 2200 stores unaccounted for. How many stores do they currently have in China and what does the future expansion in that country look like?

  • Wal-Mart: Don't Sell Early [View article]
Wal-Mart has always been a company that constantly changes and for the most part these changes have helped it become more profitable. However, for the last 3-4 years they have made some dramatic changes that have affected both the employees and the customers in a negative way. The number of employees that staff the store has been cut to the point that they can no longer provide the customer service that they were built on,lines at the checkout have a longer wait time, and the inventory is at a much greater risk of shrinkage due to theft and overstock. All of these things will eventually reduce their profit and customer support.

  • Wal-Mart Offers Low Prices Every Day (Does Not Apply To Our Stock) [View article]
Wal-Mart inventories are showing a substantial increase in lost inventory. It is a direct result of decreased staffing and increasing the hiring of part-time employees who really don't care what happens to the company as long as they get their paycheck. This will eventually result in less customers and lower profits.

  • Wal-Mart (WMT) appears to be hiring more temporary workers than full-time workers, according to the results of a Reuters survey. The hiring strategy could help the retailer save money and stem criticism that it's understaffed at certain stores. Another twist is that the practice also reduces health care costs associated with Obamacare. [View news story]
Wal-Mart has been criticized lately for having employees who don't really care about customer service which is what the company was founded on. Just give me my paycheck and let me get outta here. Oh, and by the way, I'm willing to listen to the unions now.
