  • Linn Energy: Is The Market Pricing In Another Distribution Cut? [View article]
Albert, "the world is in a mess." How true, how about Belgium this morning? I don't see how Europe will ever hold together with all the free travel between countries---a sieve leaking---no security for the citizens any more. Not a great place to live or do business. IMHO

  • Linn Energy +9% despite cuts to capex, dividends [View news story]
Mark A, agree with you. I don't need the dividends for income, but invest in about 13 MLP's and have done quite well over the years. Retiree's who need the income could find a slew of reliable stocks for somewhat steady income: FGP, MHI, NMZ, NMM, TOO, etc. We own these among others and they seem steady--although analysts are not big fans. Who really cares what they say. Rather, I like SA for some good advice. All the best.

196... you have it correctly. But in a world where people overeat and get obese, they don't like discipline like "belt-tightening." They go out and buy new clothes, and we all know the result to that approach.

Gene, remember nobody loses "money" unless they sell and jump ship--both unwise, patience is the rule! All the best.

Chris, you are RIGHT. No pain, no gain. Mr. Linn is an intelligent manager, not afraid to cut the budget & dividend.

Jerry Wengler, we all do not like to see our dividend incomes go down, but this is a tough period for oil as everyone knows, just hold on and you will be happy again. I am a dividend-freak and have learned to be patient. It works. Good luck for the New Year to all on SA.

Creese, I think SDRL will come back after Obama stops playing tough guy with Putin. Deep sea oil was there before this President and will go on after he is retired. John Fredericksen (sp?) is no fool. Good luck.

  • Enterprise Products announces two-for-one stock split [View news story]
Fred, you are right, nothing changes but the costume it wears! Look at Berkshire Hathaway--Buffett doesn't ever split and I think it keeps the playful traders out of the game--who has that kind of money to gamble. Maybe best to let it ride up and up. Any comments?
