  • Netflix's Best Case Scenario [View article]
If 32.7% of peak down traffic on the internet is Netflix traffic, then ISP's will have or are having issues.

Rogers (RCI) is already called for bandwidth throttling which must be partly due to NFLX

Seems there are hidden costs coming...or way higher internet costs for users.

  • Is Green Mountain Coffee A $120 Stock? Einhorn Vs. Chappell [View article]
Their delayed earnings report (Nov 25 now) tells a bit of the story...says they are scared (justifiably) and are going to engineer a solid no sh*t report to dispel Einhorn once and for all...but I expect that may take a 3rd party independent auditor to sniff around long enough to decide...otherwise I am expecting another eventual drop...

Full disclosure: I grind my own Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. I have no intention of buying a Keurig machine in the next....5000 months.

"Since I'm not an investor in the fund, I'm not sure we'll get an answer on this point anytime soon."

What does your involvement have to do with it all?

  • Is Now The Time To Buy Netflix? [View article]
I tend to agree... they are not worth it. Once people see the amount of bandwidth they are charged due to overages in downloading...I think we'll see a change...
Google is the one I'm watching. Coupled with it's Youtube, probably the best to perform.

  • Happy birthday Coca-Cola (KO), 125 today. It was the world's most valuable brand last year but it faces a decline in its main market in the U.S. as Americans get more health conscious. Other challenges include driving sales in the world's fastest-growing major economies, and, like everyone else, coping with volatile commodity prices.  [View news story]
When it becomes too expensive....the only way people will stop.

Heard sugar is up 600% and it doesn't seem to affect it...

But when water is up 6000% maybe....

  • How to surf the silver wave: Maybe it's time to take some profits, and wait and see, James Stewart says. He's big on inflation hedges, but you might want to take this chance to rebalance. Meanwhile, Jim Rogers gets into the Grantham camp and is bearish on silver short-term, but still bullish on (peaked) oil.  [View news story]
Sounds like someone is short silver

  • BoC Governor Carney tries to talk down the Canadian dollar, saying its strength has hurt the country's competitiveness against both the U.S. and other nations, and poses a downside risk to the economy. "Growth has been slowed quite markedly in the second quarter." Loonie is flat at $1.0348.  [View news story]
A Ontario fall election should see Premier McGuinty booted out in an Ignatieff-like style.
Things might finally be turned around by the new government (Conservative) but there is a chance albeit very slim, that the NDP (socialist) might continue its popularity surge. But, that is a VERY long shot given a past NDP premier Bob Rae.
Ontario has completely been gutted with it's manufacturing industry. Once the top economic force in Canada...now a have not province. Nortel, RIMM etc etc...we can't ever maintain market leadership.
Federal government has it's work cut out for it. Lets see what happens with a majority in both House and Senate.
