Well now, that is the writing on the wall for CIT. If it benifits Goldman Sachs [GS] for it to fail, then it will fail. GS gets paid in whole and the American Taxpayer takes it in the shorts again. This has been the patern from the very begining of this whole financial fiasco. Pretty soon we wil be the unites divisions of goldman sachs and not the republic of the USA.

The article above about the big major banks being main enablers and not the victims as they are portrayed as far as the subprime mortgage situation is concerned is getting no press on cnbc or bloombergs this am. They are not the victims, they were the culprits and then they need government bailouts and declare they can run themselves better without government regulations and that they deserve massive bonuses. What a joke our financial institutions have become! Oh yes, they also need relaxed accounting standards for their troubles assets.

aig- doesn't deserve to be in capital letters! A 60 Billion loss in 1 quarter. In american capitalism, the business model is that the ceo's and the board of directors get exhorbatant salaries which they have the authority to grant themselves. Then they need bailed out by the federal government, However, they don't want the government to control them because big business is so astute and run things so much efficiently. LOL--Good Luck to you all when reality sets in. It is not going to be very pretty!

Screw the equity-bond holders and protect the american taxpayer. If the financial services companies need to unload their toxic assets then the government can buy them only if assured of a massive profit and that should only go to beef up social security. Bad business and bad businessmen should not get rewarded as they are so sadly doing now.

Most people just don't get the bailout bill. Some view it as a government bailout of rich wall street bankers,[NOT] Some view it as a desperate attemp to help main street. {some truth}. In my view, it is an attempt to provide the global big boys some time to exit the market in a reasonably orderly fashion. The market is being manipulated and has been for some time now. They need to keep it at reasonable levels until J. McCain is elected, so that they will still have some type of control. People who are in the market as long term investor"s are getting creamed and will be getting really creamed soon. This market is only for "traders". GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!
