  • Orexigen On A Tear - In The Wrong Direction [View article]
Belviq is considered as a candidate for smoking cessation. Why do I never hear that Contrave can also help stop smoking. One of the ingredients is Bupropion, which is sold as Zyban to help people stop smoking. I had to quit smoking myself because of Bronchitis and with Zyban I could do it in a very short time and it lasts ..... .Smoking does not evoke pleasant feeling in my brain anymore.

  • Molycorp (MCP +13%) is among today's top gainers on news that its California facility had begun to produce heavy rare-earth concentrate from freshly mined ore and is on track to achieve full Phase 1 production rates in Q4. But Paul Ausick reminds that by next year, the supply of rare earths will more than double the amount now on the market, and some companies are developing substitutes. [View news story]
Being long I welcome the 13% rise. What strikes me is that Paul Ausick reminds us that some companies are developing substututes.

I checked for a short time the internet concerning this topic an I found that GM has figured out a way to reduce its demand for dysprosium in its chevy volt and Philipps is acively looking for rare earth substitutes in LED lighting. Toyota is also quite acive.

What do we have to expect from here? Can REE-usage be reduced in a significant way. Do REE-prices have to go even lower to avoid that? What are the implications for REE-investmentes?

  • With many rare-earth stocks (REMX) near 52-week lows, now may be the time to dig in to sector bargains, Jacob Securities' Luisa Moreno says. Prices for rare-earth elements "are approaching levels which are economic again," so she sees demand starting to pick up and prices stabilizing in H2. It may take time to affect stocks, but she likes MCP, TAS, MTCEF.PK, LYSCF.PK.  [View news story]
LYSCF in additition to the other good fundamentals should benefit from a positive decision out of Malaysia. Amazingly the stock price hasn't reacted yet.
