    Highest level of shorts? I take that to mean.....highest percentage of total company stock held in short positions (per your graphic). Limited available stock, means it will take much less of a push to drive the stock price up. It is called a "short squeeze" and doesn't really apply to the big banks and car companies.

    With that said, I agree short sellers are never the problem and their open interest should have been recognized as an excellent red flag very early.
