It seems in general Americans are so self absorbed in their moment by moment sensual pleasures, they rarely if ever try to see what is being done to them. It is pathetic.

Five Reasons the Market Could Crash This Fall [View article]
Albeit, this article has nothing positive to say; although I am normally a "positive person"; I agree the system is rigged and the common person cannot have faith in the system at all.
I expect a big crash, either in the fall or the winter, because neither sales or earnings are going to rise to the level needed to justify the valuations.

Yes we are in a GREATER HOLE than when the ---- hit the fan. Glad someone is telling it like it is. Put the fraudsters and politicians who support them in jail where they belong; they are billions of time worse the Bernie Madhoff.
There is not one iota of real positive economic news anywhere on the earth planet right now. Just spoke to the CEO of a large German privately owned company and he said out of 100 friends, 60 have lost their jobs... Thailand where I live, the situation is horrible.. Every day I just stare in amazement as one business after another shuts its doors and the for sale and for rent signs appear on their former premises. This Bear Market is not over; this is a gigantic sucker rally instigated by Goldman and Assoc to rape whoever is still standing.

Prices are still too high relative to a person's earnings; therefore prices will fall at least 14% more IMHO. Add in the lack of credit worthy buyers and bank's new strict lending standards, the situation is more difficult.

I also want to know why they pay off all the cheaters debts, but will not pay off the common man's as well. As far I can see, the only sane person in the US Govt is Ron Paul.

Good article, especially your words about lawyers: "Our country is ruled by a caste of lawyers who are almost to a man (or woman) economically illiterate".. Personally, I have never received any benefits from lawyers in my life, although I have been forced to pay them a fortune.
I bought APL at about $15 some time ago... I am frankly amazed at the continued selling pressure, as the company is doing just fine cash flow wise, which is all-important.
You said it correctly... THE KARMA of decades of exploitation is swinging back on the USA very hard, very fast, and there is no manipulation or PR that will stop it.

Very good article. I agree the S&P will hjit 500 or below in 2009. I am in Asia and am experiencing the collapse over here in every facet of life. Nothing is going to ":be the same" for a long, long time. What governments are doing is going to prolong the agony, much like keeping a dying patient alive through life support, rather than letting him/her die peacefully. While death is not pleasant, it is inevitable.
I like Linn Energy.... Aleady up 54% from my buy point and think it will double from here in 2009. I'm not jumping on the solar bandwagon again right now.
Hedge Fund Redemptions May Crash Q1 Markets [View article]
IMHO the hedge fund selling is over for the time being. Shares may drift lower, as there will be no positive earnings news except for rare exceptions for quite some time, but the big massive wholesale selling is over.

I agree with this article which is why I have not panicked and sold all my energy holdings, in spite of the substantial paper losses I have at present.
