  • Five Reasons the Market Could Crash This Fall [View article]
Albeit, this article has nothing positive to say; although I am normally a "positive person"; I agree the system is rigged and the common person cannot have faith in the system at all.

I expect a big crash, either in the fall or the winter, because neither sales or earnings are going to rise to the level needed to justify the valuations.

  • Government's Next Lesson: Small Is Beautiful [View article]
Personally, I would be happy to see a lot of the big corporations broker apart. I do not feel they serve the society in a healthy way in the long term.

Walmart is too big now, as are many many others...

I don't feel the bottom is in on financials at all. I can't say is her projections are accurate, but I am sure there is a lot of pain to come. 6 months of pain does not compensate for years of wild greed.

  • As Credit Lines Dry Up, Homeowners in Withdrawal [View article]
I always enjoy and appreciate Mr. Shedlock's insights, with which I rarely have any disagreement. Personally, I feel the real estate debacle in the USA is only starting to run. I am short builders and banks for the time being, and view the recent rally as a dead cat bounce only in the builder and finance sector. I have had Citibank recently cancel my credit cards because "I have not used them"! I don't want to be over my head in debt, so I am careful when using these cards; therefore Citibank punishes me! I wrote them and told them I am happy to use the services of more customer friendly banks.

  • Auction-Rate Bonds Fail to Find Buyers [View article]
"Bren", I hope also, but this is like a tidal wave now that is unstoppable. Every act has a reaction, and no one can see clearly what the ramifications are. Had the FED not drove up rates for 17 consecutive quarters, and just left them alone, people could perhaps have made their payments, and property values would have stabilized. The FED wanted to stop the "inflation", and the result is now serious deflation in property, and inflation in everything else. Is there a worse scenario economically?

It is about time the domino collapsed and reality sets in. The US has been living a dream for too long and the dream is now a nightmare.

I am looking at the tape this AM and it seems the only safe haven is in precious metal, commodities and energy.
