  • Replace The 4% Retirement Rule With These 4% Dividend Stocks  [View article]
Could not agree more! Knowing I was going to retire in 2014 I bought blue chip companies constantly paying good dividends during the "crash" of 2008! Based on cost my yield is a LOT higher than 4%

  • Why Apple's Valuation Is Irrelevant  [View article]
Bottom Line: I'm at the point where I can no longer watch the Closing Bell or Fox Business News at 4:00 knowing full well that my retirement portfolio has taken another kick in the gut by the continual downward spiral of AAPL! Thank God that Samsung's stock price isn't listed as they are soundly kicking Apple's ass (Tim Cook) with demonstratable innovation and marketing superiority!

  • Apple As The New RIM  [View article]
Cook has as much personality as a slug!! Most of the supply chain management experts I have worked with have the nerd complex of control trumping having some fun! Not only am I selling my remaining Apple stock but also my iPad, Mac AND iPhone 5 so I can forget the head moron who I think despises us small shareholders! Cookie couldn't instill confidence in anyone and I think we'll be seeing a mass desertion of key talent!

  • Evidence continues to pile up that iOS (AAPL) users are much more lucrative (on average) to developers and advertisers than Android (GOOG) users. IBM estimates the iPhone and iPad accounted for 18.5% of Black Friday online shopping traffic, and Android devices just 5.5%. Other studies have already shown iOS accounting for a disproportionate share of ad sales, app download revenue, and (thanks in large part to the iPad) Web traffic. This is a headache for Google, since it has to make search ad revenue-sharing payments for Mobile Safari traffic.  [View news story]
And the fact that Apple buyers are better informed consumers than the typical Android "flash & bang" consumer who is easily swayed by hype and not substance!

  • What Has Changed For Apple?  [View article]
How about some negative stories on Samsung like the "pile-on" we are seeing with Apple? Last I knew Apple was an American company and Samsung is Korean!! No comments ever by these same critics on how Samsung cheated its way to success coping Apple technology!

As I look at the stock scroll across my screen showing Apple at 541.70 I am damn close to pushing the panic button! I have to agree with the commenter that noted there is manipulation taking place to drive the price down. Unfortunately, the biggest reason for this dramatic decline is the lack of confidence by the citizens of the United States in the morons that comprise our Federal government and simply cannot work together for the welfare of our Nation. As a high visibility, discretionary purchase I think the impending "fiscal cliff" is already impacting Apple! Bottom Line: the availability of money people will soon have will be decimated by the cretins we have in the House and Senate!

  • More on Apple: It looks as if the iPad Mini, premium pricing and all, is off to a decent start: the white model sold out hours after pre-orders commenced, and shipping times now stand at 2 weeks. The black model is still available. Digitimes recently claimed the Mini's relatively high pricing was due to low yields for its cutting-edge GF2 touchscreen tech (previous). If that rumor is accurate (a big if), it could mean a price cut will arrive once yields improve and costs fall.  [View news story]
I think the operative term in your comment is "idiots"!! I have finally reached the point where I don't even read the gibberish spouted by these idiots!

  • Apple: Of Cults And Cool, Hype And Sheep  [View article]
Your comment addresses the true discriminator as to why Apple will prevail. The quality of the company's leadership (not management) is reflected in the work ethic of their employees! And that is something that a LOT of American companies need to emulate!

  • A Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman warns a House committee report urging U.S. companies not to use Huawei and ZTE's gear will "undermine cooperation and development" between the U.S. and China. Arik Hesseldahl notes Cisco (CSCO), which derives 16% of its sales from the Asia-Pac region and just ended its partnership with ZTE, has plenty to lose if a "telecom trade war" breaks out. An EU anti-dumping case against Huawei and ZTE has been delayed[View news story]
We always lose sight of the fact this is COMMUNIST China that is making the threats! Their military has the most sophisticated cyber warfare capability in the world and includes constant attacks on our defense networks and business enterprise systems! The pictures of the hacker cells comprised of hundreds of technicians probing our networks would scare the Hell out of our citizens. They also are extremely proficient in producing and distributing counterfeit parts that are used in our defense weapon systems. The stated goal of Communist Red China is total domination of the earth's critical natural resources to perpetuate their civilization!

  • Apple Is A 'Must Buy' Deep-Value Dividend Stock  [View article]
Todd, I cannot thank you enough for reminding me of why I have been an Apple stockholder for the past three years. Based on the lambasting that Apple has taken in the past two weeks by the "doom and gloom" attention seekers who portray themselves as analysts I was beginning to feel pangs of doubt about staying the course! You have expertly addressed the true "fundamentals" of this dynamic and disciplined company and reinforced my confidence in the "Samsung Slayer". Drive on!!

  • Doug Kass doesn't pull any punches in making a bear case for Apple (AAPL +0.9%). The iPhone 5 "feels like a toy," Kass writes, while claiming Steve Jobs would have never "let it go out the door like that." With Jobs gone, Apple risks "losing that magical Walt Disney feeling," he adds. Kass, who shorted Apple in winter (that hasn't worked out well), also believes Apple is "losing mojo and mindshare" to Samsung, and predicts his fears might start to be realized after the December quarter.  [View news story]
What a moron!! Like a lemming following a lemming all the worthless of the worthless analysts are piling on Apple, one of the best companies in the world! How about once in a while they do an article on Apple's FOREIGN competition! How about some insight and bad mouthing of KOREA's Samsung, the cheaters, thieves and copy cats who just lost a HUGE lawsuit by Apple! God knows we need to start supporting companies like Apple and get our help bring those factory jobs back here for all the liberal arts graduates who can't find a job!
