The author of this piece has not thought through his ideas very well. A pre-packaged bankruptcy is just a fantasy. The amount of paperwork involved (just reviewing the 16,000 dealer franchise agreement will take forever) and getting agreement amongst the bondholders, unions, management, and the government are impossible to do. Bondholders will not agree to getting cut in half or more unless they unions agree to more concessions. The mechanics of getting this done are just impossible.
