How Lumia Could Light Up Nokia's Fortunes [View article]
The true test of the Nokia 920 was when one of my sons chose it over all other phones including the Iphone 5 ( despite my having an Iphone). It's a solid product, he's not had one single issue in six months.
I am long NOK , but it is a speculative buy at this point rather than an "investment". My gut feeling is the company is a few years away from a meaningful turn around. But they have a chance so long as they keep developing new products like the 920.
As a related note, with Apple's perceived slowdown in innovation the rest of the market will catch up technology wise. Check out the Nokia 920 and see if you agree.
The real test over time will be whether APPLE is a one horse show or has creative as well as marketing depth. Everything we've seen so far is the workoff of the Steve Jobs pipeline. I like APPLE stuff, but the NOKIA 920 outshines the Iphone.
Meanwhile the company has a load of cash and positioned to make some key acquisions.
So the $60K question here is APPLE stock cheap at $400 or overvalued?
Will Microsoft Surge Ahead With Its New Tablet? [View article]
Agreed, and I do all these thing too with my Ipad3. However, MSFT's tablet will also do all this plus accept a USB drive and run MS Office.
I believe once you/we take a look at MSFT's offerings in hardware we will all be impressed . The MSFT store I visited today had some "pre" Surface devices that were very nice.
I own and like Apple products. I am just not an Apple fanatic- I'd love to see MSFT and INTC get back in the game with a better product.
Why Microsoft Stores Will Cause A Paradigm Shift [View article]
I dropped into the MSFT store in the Galleria after dropping by the Apple Store. I looked at the tablet type device running W8 and was quite impressed, not just with the hardware. I own an Ipad3 and enjoy it as entertainment. However, looking forward to the new devices MSFT will be putting on market soon.
In fact, I was so impressed that I added to my long position . I think MSFT ( FWIW) will come back into the market in a strong way.
Should Microsoft Really Become More Like Apple? [View article]
MSFT is going to pull a bit of the rug out from Apple- just like they did before. I love my IPad 3 and IPhones, but look forward to MSFT's new OS , new hardware, all powered by INTC processors.
Competition will be good for all and the PC is far from dead.

MSFT may be late to the party, but I believe they will offer something Apple has not seen for a long time - Competition. I own an Ipad 3 and like it as a browser toy. I am looking forward to the MSFT based tablet powered by Intel.
Buy Apple's Current Dip To Ride Its Likely Rise To $800 [View article]
I think the article was well written.
I currently do not own Apple stock so am fairly objective.
My concerns are :
1) Future product "pipeline" with Job's no longer involved ( will remain an open question and big risk);
2) Loss of focus on quality- the seemingly trivial glitch with the new Iphone 5 Maps application is potentially an indicator (?)
3) China - recent Foxconn factory worked unrest/riots; Apple needs to bring these jobs back to the United States.
Keep in mind Microsoft, and others, will be bringing product to market to compete. They may be late to the party, but if they come prepared could take away market share.
Why Lululemon Could Be The Next Prime Short Candidate [View article]
Having heard so much about LULU , I finally went to the mall just to check out their local store.
I don't get it. Overpriced sports attire catering to YOGA? This in a faltering, sputtering , economy ? I got Gymboree in its day- this one I don't understand. Then again, I don't do YOGA either..
I am not short this stock, nor suggest anyone do so. Obviously the buying public likes what this store sells, and you can't argue revenue?
Brazil And Petrobras: Oil Potential Or Oil Dream? [View article]
Thank you for an excellent article on Brazil and PBR !
I am long PBR at current price levels - so I am not objective. Nonetheless, I did find your article to be rather Bullish on both Brazil and PBR.
Also, it seems that PBR's stock reactions are magnified in both positive and negative directions to the price of crude oil. Today oil is down , PBR is down more than its peers. I will expect it will rally well with the eventual and certain increase in crude oil prices.
PS - I almost passed on your article based on the "Oil Dream" portion of the title which struck me a negative "short" position statement. Clearly there are challenges ahead extracting the oil profitably offshore.
Windows Phone Continues To Gain Market Share Thanks To Nokia [View article]
I have an Iphone , but likely will consider the Nokia at my next upgrade.

Intel Q3 Earnings Beat Overshadowed By Future Prospects [View article]
MSFT'will do well not just with W8 but with the roll out of new hardware. This will also help INTC.
Downside remains, but I am holding and potentially accumulating a few more shares at current levels.
