Are We Heading Toward a Market Crash by Jobless Recovery? [View article]
One of the only things I agreed with from the Obama campaign was "shovel ready projects". We, the U.S. need new infrastructure and existing infrastructure repair. We are ready for it now. Where is it?
House Flipping Is All the Rage (Again) [View article]
You can knock the flipping if you want; there are things to watch out for and you need a good lawyer to run the lien checks, clear the deed, pay off the back taxes, etc. However, when it's all said and done, this is a very profitable maneuver to generate wealth. You just have to watch the bid price and learn to control yourself during the bidding (don't go in with the I'll-pay-any-price attitude).
Well written article. However, my take on the Senate interviews yesterday is that they will, in majority, laugh off Uncle Ben's misdirection and re-appoint him as normal business. There are many in the Congress that secretly concur with this money printing. They have no way to stop it and it keeps pork flowing to their districts for re-election, so it's good for the Congressmen.
Doing research this weekend, it looks like 1020 is the current resistance level. If we get above that, it will look up for a while (until we hit around 1200). Monday and Tuesday should tell us a lot of things.
I agree with the Author, the only question is WHEN will this happen. The Fed can continue to print, print, print (P-cubed) money indefinitely. There is no one to stop them.

TMark: Great research and appreciate the article.
I noticed about 20 years ago that companies didn't want to cover their employee retirements anymore....started thinking about investing in my own future.....so I'm okay for now. I only wish that other Americans would have done the same.
We've come full circle - we have to take care of ourselves once again.

My answer to Trader Mark, et al is..... 1) My Bible says that God commands us to help the poor and needy, yes even with an occasional freebie handout when they don't even deserve it. We have no choice in the matter.
2) Being a renter isn't such a bad thing. I sold my house in the Chicago burbs at the very peak of the housing craze and haven't bothered to dump 100K's into another one (yet, I'm still waiting on a market bottom). It was one of the best financial moves I ever made and I have "no worries".

Nice article, TraderMark.
Now if we all gave a little of our income to help (as in a LifeLine, local food pantry, local family support program, etc), we could help chip away at poverty in America...... but who can do that when we are all occupied with building our McMansions?

This is all part of the Democratic plan to move increasing amounts of wealth and power to the government. They need to keep all the workers poor and under their control.
