  • Some Signs Of Trouble [View article]
Nokia rises on news to be thought good by many hopefuls, but each and everytime a sour word comes out about Nokia , the selloff begins. The same for ALU a stock that fell asleep at the wheel, if a company doesnt have the next greatest invention created after the release of the greatest invention, then they will fall down the hill quickly.

  • More on Nokia: A job posting from the company's Silicon Valley office for an engineer with embedded Linux expertise has fueled speculation Nokia is working on an Android phone, given Android is based on Linux. However, Nokia has a history of working on other embedded Linux platforms, such as MeeGo and the recently-scrapped Meltemi. Back in July, chairman Risto Siilasmaa talked of having a "contingency plan" in the event Windows Phone 8 sales disappoint - many took that to mean Android. Update: Nokia says the job listing is related to its Here mapping platform. [View news story]

One analyst estimates the deal, which affects 1,900 employees, could be worth €200M ($261M), depending on the patents involved. NSN has been busy slashing jobs and selling off product lines (I, II, III) this past year. The company's operating profit saw a €410M Q/Q improvement in Q3. [View news story]

  • Beware Of Research In Motion And Nokia Near Year-End [View article]
in the stock market nothing is ever the same and it is even harder to get the same results twice,,,,,,, there are so many different factors this time from last year, anything could happen, I will add my trailing stop loss at some point, but if you sell, you may only be able to watch the stock rise past the get in point.

I may just stay in for the ride of my life.

  • India is one market where Nokia (NOK) hasn't lost its market share lead: research firm CMR estimates the struggling Finnish phone giant accounted for 22.2% of Indian mobile phone shipments in 1H12, putting it easily ahead of #2 Samsung (13% share) and #3 Micromax (5.5%). A big reason why: smartphones are estimated to have made up just 5% of shipments in the cost-sensitive market, and to have actually posted a slower growth rate (12.2%) than feature phones (16.9%). (IDC data[View news story]
5% of sales will increase as time goes on, Nokia has a very strong image in India, and not everyone wants a smart phone.

Also China Mobile will also sell Nokia phones. Nokia does more than just phones too.

For me the long shot is worth investing in.
