Your idea on energy is a path to a dramatically smaller economy. Maybe if we just pass a law where people can only use energy made by solar cells, wind, or yaks, then the environment can become more pristine for you. Meanwhile, anyone without wealth will lose all hope of ever getting any or improving their standard of living -- just like the cavemen.

  • Herbalife's Astonishing Response  [View article]
I did an analysis of this last year that people can go listen to, but my basic argument is that in FY 2013, HLF sold $4.8 billion worth of product. If this number is just people who have been bilked out of $10,000, that would be 480,000 people bilked out of their money. Where are these people? You may have 10 or 20 people willing to go on a show and talk about their unhappy experiences with failure. OK, people fail in capitalism. I hope that's not your issue because if so, you should read up on how capitalism works. But really, if the $4.8 billion in revenue is just HLF bilking people, where are the other 479,980 people who were bilked? This is a dog bites man story. There are failures in every franchise approach. Domino's pizza, McDonald's, Avon, 7-11 -- in every operation that relies on franchisees you will get a lot of failure. I know you must be a big Wall Street analyst type -- do you have any idea what percentage of new brokers fail? Is that a scam being run by Merrill Lynch where they get people all excited about the potential of being a successful broker, then they fire them for lack of production. Is this a problem for you? I'm not sure you've really thought this through.

  • Is Herbalife A Fraud? That Is The Question  [View article]
The opportunity fraud you peg to $HLF is the same fraud brought upon new clients at most brokerage firms, freshman at leading universities, as well as countless other first rungs in life, not to mention entire categories like healthcare, beauty care, dieting. Creating hope in people is not a crime, even if you charge them for the service. Unless there is fraud in the accounting statements, I'd be hesitant to call this a fraud.
