Canadian Energy Trusts Look Cheap: Harvest Is Well Positioned

The Canadian oil trusts are all ridiculously underpriced. Even after taxes and dollar conversion, HTE, PWE, and the others are returning over 20% a year just in distributions! (They are so beaten down right now that they probably are also going to get over a 100% capital gain appreciation over the next year or so.) If you had a financial analyst or a hedge fund manager who was getting that kind of return in this kind of market he would be bragging about it in full page advertisements in the WSJ.

Black Swans and Greenwashing Solar and Wind

Finally an article that tells it like it is. At times it seems like the whole environmental movement is cursed with dreamers who see things the way they wish them be rather than the way they really are. Solar and wind power are fine for what they are, but they are niche power sources and are not the answer.

You'd be a fool to pass up PWE at these ridiculously depressed prices. You get about a 20% return on your investment just on the distribution alone. The company sits on enormous pools of untapped oil and as the price of oil eventually goes up the unit price will go up for a beautiful capital gain. Did you ever hear the expression "too clever by a half?" Don't be so clever that you talk yourself out of a no-brainer.
