Opko Health: Shorting Is The Best Diagnosis [View article]
Every long stockholder should specifically instruct their brokers not to loan out their shares or place them in margin accounts. That alone would put a world of hurt on the short sellers when they must cover their losing bets.

This writer mentions investors losing money in 2008 in OPK due to a failed venture . DUH ! And if they purchased in 2008 what would the return be? That is why Dr Frost is diversifying across a broad spectrum of potential blockbusters. All he needs is one to hit and I cannot believe this un-credentialed critic has the technical know how, or crystal ball to figure out that everything the company is working on is just pie in the sky and not worth the effort or money of the good doctor.
Once again, I will go with the smart money. Dr Frost has proven his worth many times over and nobody bats 1000%. The stock picking skills of the writer have proven his lack of worth (multiple and growing losses), maybe negative net worth by the time he finishes his bashing. How about the writer provides us with some of his picks besides the OPK short and we can judge for ourselves who does or doesn't have a track record of success.

You write as if there is no basis for insiders purchasing 10% of this stock over the past 5 years. These hardly amount to the "nominal purchases" you seem to attribute to them. That alone makes this a hatchet job designed to drive down the price of the stock. So as I see it, you (who go without a profile) are short a stock, do not believe in its pipeline and ignore the ever increasing insider buying by a man with a liquid net worth in excess of 100% of the market capitalization of this company. Your lack of scientific credentials alone should be enough to discount your analysis and this coupled with your obvious short selling into strength should be enough for anyone with remaining brain cells left to ignore your self serving drivvle. I anxiously await your further upcoming analysis on Opko...errr hatchet job du joir. By the way, nice calls on Biotime, it seems that every article you write pushes it higher. And when you write on the long side (e.g. Valeant) the stock has been in a virtual free fall. Some analyst you are!
Hmmm....do I put my money on advice from a guy with a continuous losing track record of stock picking with no stated credentials, or with Dr Frost whose average "nominal purchases" are equal to $2million per month, and who has already built and sold public companies in the pharma space for in excess of $8billion? I myself will go with the winner and not the self serving short "anal"yst.
Griffon Corporation Announces Second Quarter Results [View article]
Pay attention to insider transactions. OOPS-they don't buy their own stock they just take it from shareholders who are ignorant enough to grant them options and rights for pitiful so-called performance.
I like the honesty. Sometimes even the mention of an article suggesting one is long is enough to try to prop up the stock and therefore back a subpar management team at best. We all have some bad days and the day you picked Griffon was one of them.
Actually I now understand why you are seeking to prop up Griffon shares. A cost basis of $17.96 and you continue to hold? What hopes do you have with this management team. They have lined their pockets the whole way down and if you look at their recent 14A statement, they continue to line their pockets and create incentives for mismanagement, poor performance and loss of shareholder value. Why back this band of thieves? Why recommend to anyone that they join you in this misery?
I read the entire post. I specifically refer to the Griffon subsidiary's government contracts, not some reference to Wax Inc and the government. Perhaps you should learn to read yourself before posting such dribble. Based on your other writings it is quite obvious that your investment advice is in need of surgery. Your track record speaks for itself and if you are long, I am happy to be short. It is like owning a casino, the odds for the house improve with every person who walks in the door.
You write like a pump and dump scam artist. You are in good company with the unscrupulous and unethical animals at Griffon. Wait until the government contracts start to decline based on reputation issue coming back to bite these PIGS.
Actually better for me that you are long. Just more overpriced shares I will buy back cheaper (if I buy at all). Next stop $6. Just remember PIGS get slaughtered and this management team are known as piggish.
Asking their investor relations department? How transparent can you be? Are you a paid public relations consultant to Griffon? Why not interview their vendors like any good analyst would do? I am not at liberty to say more other than if you are long you are WRONG.
Opko Health Vis-A-Vis Dr. Phillip Frost: On The Move [View article]
With Dr Frost having roughly 25% of his net worth tied up in this company, it is quite telling that he is increasing his position. Obviously he thinks the stock is heading higher. Personally I cannot figure out which potential blockbuster has his undivided interest as well as his checkbook wide open. Is it the Alzheimers test, Parkinson's compound, Prostate Cancer Biomarker or is it the Claros diagnostic testing device that could revolutionize blood testing and cost savings associated with having blood test results at the Doctor's office during your office visit? Any one of these could be groundbreaking, clearly cost saving and most importantly a large, recurring source of revenues well into the future. Dr Frost most certainly believes investing additional dollars into this company will yield tremendous results. I BELIEVE HIM for as they say "put your money where your mouth is". He is certainly abiding. I would love to hear from those who think they know just what product has the good Doctor so enthused about this company.
Griffon Corp, owner of Clopay and Ames. I hope this clarifies for you. This management team is known for their shady business practices and eventually that stuff doesn't just go away.

Kramer, Blau, Kaplan and other management are a bunch of self serving hacks whose business plan is designed to benefit themselves at the expense of shareholders. They lack integrity, honesty and rae known in industries they serve as unreliable. Not exactly who you want running your business. Ames historically blames results on the weather as if this isn't ordinary in their business. THROW OUT THE BUMS.

Ron Kramer, Harvey Blau, Seth Kaplan and the rest of the Griffon team are a bunch of hacks who operate under a self serving regime designed to benefit them to the detriment of shareholders. Ames has historically explained bad results on the weather, as if that isn't a recurrence in their business!! Kick out these bums and put in an honest operating team with integrity.
