Bartz's Hiring Has Put It Off, But Microsoft Must Ultimately Acquire Yahoo [View article]
Definitely an article written with a very limited view of the world, certainly of technology and not from a visionary point whatsoever.
Yahoo has no need to sell search to Microsoft. Microsoft however DOES need Yahoo Search to survive in search at all. Because they were cocky and abandoned Google search results because they could develop a better product, they shot themselves in the foot.
Bartz should LICENSE search to Microsoft at a very hefty upfront cost and a recurring revenue model of returns to Yahoo. You can use our search, but we maintain all ownership/development rights/responsibilitie...
Ballmer and his kiddies will play in that pool. Then Yahoo should license search out to every major corporation around the globe.
Yahoo Search provides superior results to Google's. Far better conversions. There's just some restructure that needs to take place internally as a result of that.
But to say that Yahoo should bow to Microsoft...like saying Apple should do it. Not gonna happen. If it does...they'll have a hard time getting people to keep using it.
Wall Street Not Impressed With Bartz as Next Yahoo CEO [View article]
She got named the stock pitched downward. There's a clue for all investors. RUN!!! Autodesk stock was trading at $50+ per share 2 years ago. It's now down to 18. Run, Run, Run as far from this stock as you can would be my advice.
She does NOT have the strength to run this company without the key knowledge of the industry and if she's looking to the Three Amigos (Yang, Decker, Filo) for guidance...well look where Yahoo is trading at now and remember that they and the lame duck Board are why they are trading where they are.
I'd wake up tomorrow, call my broker and dump this stock but quick!
Yahoo Considering Computer Industry Pro Carol Bartz as CEO [View article]
What Yahoo needs "at the top" is a complete amputation. So holding back there. Starting with the board, then working down the management team and especially AXING "The THREE AMIGOS" (YANG, DECKER, FILO). The only way a new incoming CEO will be able to function is with a completely clean slate and a board that is composed of outside the box thinkers that are not staples of the company and that have not been seated with the current board.
Blow the dust out of the boardroom. They've gotten too comfy. Take away any grants of stock and throw them out on their keesters is my recommendation and that of anyone else who has any sense and has reviewed the failures in this company over the past 10 years.
Having worked for AutoDESK...okay, not bad. Having worked for SUN...So what. I did as well. I got out before the stock hit $3.00 a share. That is another company that needs an executive team cleaning starting with Schwartz & McNealy, but that's a whole year worth of writing there.
Mark Cuban: Yahoo in Slump Because Yang is ‘Too Nice’

Yang is a nice guy. I lived in Taiwan for a while when I was younger. Nice place, but the businessmen there are ruthless and very wealthy. Not sure which town he hailed, but in Taipei...he'd have been swallowed up sooner rather than later.
Anyway, I'd love to take over Jerry's position and bring the company back to a higher stock value. See here: is.gd/82O7
