"It is not so difficult to figure out what is fair. The more you make the more you pay." See we do have common ground..the tax rate should be fixed without loopholes...say 10%...!0% of $10,000 is $1000. make ten times more money and pay 10x more taxes. $100,000 income pays $10,000. Thats whats called fair.

Bzl.....we were talking about entitlement programs being paid for and by the way where do you think medicare gets it monies. We were talking about the GOP wanting to cut entitlement programs. Once again I think entitlement programs are wonderful as long as they are "paid for." How do you intend to pay for this universal Medicare? What and who are you going to tax? Why did you not increase your payments thru the years to match inflation? If you did where is the monies. Why do you think the youth of America should supplement your medicare and social security. Because your a nice guy? we have our on to pay for.

"When it comes to Medicare, however, virtually all Americans are getting far more than they pay in taxes, which is 2.9% on all of one's income, not including the new 0.9% surtax on high earners. The couple turning 65 in 2010 paid a scant $122,000 in Medicare taxes, but can expect to get $427,000 in benefits." Next time I have to pay a hospital bill I think i will adjust it for inflation. I am sure they will understand.

Hi . I am not against any entitlement program but it must be paid for. "A couple who each earned the average wage during their careers and retired in 1990 would have paid $316,000 in Social Security taxes, but collected $436,000 in benefits, according to data crunched by Eugene Steuerle, an economist at the Urban Institute." Somebody has to make up the difference. I am tired of it being me Socks..I'm just dam tired of it.

"Protect entitlement programs" You can have all the entitlement programs you want as long as you are willing to pay for them. Right now the taxes are not paying for the programs we have in place. So...you wish to pay more taxes or more probably you wish for "someone else" to pay more taxes. It has become the American way. I want more entitlement programs but no I don't want to pay for them

Hi Matthew, I too am a holder of EVEP. Day after day I review the same numbers and come to the same conclusion....this sale off is not warranted. For so many to be selling, what am i missing. I wonder why the CEO has not addressed this sell off?
