I like three out of five (Intel, SanDisk, and nVidia). I don't know Linear. I'd toss BroadCom ought for the same reasons you tossed out Marvell: corporate governance. Federal drug charges plus 21 federal counts of securities and accounting fraud against a co-founder suggest serious lapses.
There may be no lapses. There may be criminal lapses a la Martha Stewart (guilty verdict, but companies involved remain viable concerns). There may be little accounting errors like those at AIG a few years back...I just can't tell. So I'll stay clear.
