  • Omega Healthcare Puts The Purr In Performance [View article]
Thanks Brad. I bought OHI in the Fall of 2012 - might have been after reading an article of yours. Needless to say, I have been delighted with its performance as an important cog in my dividend growth and income machine.

  • Why I Purchased Schwab's U.S Dividend Equity ETF As A Dividend Growth Investment [View article]
David has long been in the hybrid world of investing by his own account, having written that he has been slowly moving funds invested in bonds and maybe mutual funds over to his dividend growth strategy. It is fair to say, I think, that SCHD is part of that dividend growth strategy.

No, there would have to be an equal number on each side of the median line. You guys can figure out is it is dollars or number of investors, but the median would be the correct measure of central tendency, not the arithmetic mean.

To my knowledge Dale has not, despite repeated requests from Chowder, posted public information about his Scaredy Cat portfolio performance.

I may just have missed it, though.

With SCHD's current dividend yield and 2 year dividend growth (and low cost), it certainly qualifies for my portfolio. I will keep watching it and may put a starter position on. In fact, I threw in the towel on RCI after holding it for 18 months - it was a value idea that became more of a value trap than other value ideas I have bought. May put a bit of that money into SCHD.

<<"Past performance is no predictor of future results">>

Past performance is a predictor of future results, and a pretty good one. It is not, however, a guarantee of future results.

    Thank you David!

I look forward to reading your updates on SCHD. My sister-in-law is in it and it seems a fine option.

My wife also has little interest in managing our stock portfolios, so as I age I will likely move some of our money into SCHD. I may also start putting a little new money in it while I am still relatively young (63).

I have owned SE for two years and am satisfied with it. I first became aware of it through M*'s Dividend Investor newsletter. Total return since March, 2013 has been 38.3% with dividends reinvested. I plan to continue holding it and to continue reinvesting the dividends.

Depends on what parts they are selling off. I think it is a good thing they are getting rid of Jack Welche's financial engineering part. It did well, but when the financial crisis hit, it hurt GE a lot and many folks have an intense dislike of Immelt for that reason. I think their dislike is a little bit, but not totally displaced.

We'll get to see how future goes. I have a slightly overweight position in GE, opened in 2012 and added to in 2013 and 2015. It is not my best performing position, but I am satisfied with both the dividend, the dividend increases and the total return during the time that I have held it
