Yandex: The Biggest IPO of 2008 Is Coming Out of Russia

For me – customer of Yandex Russia: very strange Yandex attempt to pursue IPO in US, considering Yandex need to clean up there act in Russia first. Imagine: Yandex tech support completely ignoring to all requests related to search engine, I own small business: notebook-center.ru, producing unique content in Russian Language, I have daily 50,000 users, I know huge amount of websites, who taking articles from me, and leave out of my content, but Yandex, 9 month ago decides my content is copy of some one, and demote rating, all request going to nowhere, standard reply: we check your site every thing in order. We even contacted member of the board, but problem was resolved for one month and reappeared.

As conclusion I don’t think it is possible to re-apply search tactics used for Russian folks (who have no-one to appeal), in International market, and success of the company may not be so bright as we would think.

In another word, yandex may have to re-develop from scratch entire search engine and tactics for International community, meaning sufficiency of the company will go substantially down.
