  • Tesla: Be Ready For A Massive Crash [View article]
Author has no idea if the stock will actually crash, and if so, when and from what level. So the title of the article should be subdued a bit, don't you think ?

  • The silver (or gold) lining in Marc Faber's gloomy prediction [View news story]
You'll have no money left to buy at S&P 170. You and all the dip buyers will be broke by then.

  • The Disturbing Evolution Of Central Banking [View article]
Brilliant commentary. I also expected that that the cycle would end with inflationary lessons learned. Since it does not appear that to be the case, I guess volatility will be permanently depressed, since we can view the Central Bank "put" to be perpetually available. No consequences.

  • Is VIX Too Low? And Where Do Volatility ETPs Go From Here? [View article]
Selling volatility now is akin to insuring against risk. If you have the means of an insurance company, be my guest. Otherwise it seems awfully haughty at these depressed levels.

I have to wonder, who do you think you are, providing protection on volatility in this market. You have no business doing so, MI.

  • Buying From Panic Sellers: A Forgotten, Unloved Precious Metal [View article]
Platinum is not recycled as heavily as is gold, aluminum, and certainly in the case of steel/ iron. The conclusion drawn from your link may be incorrect from a common-sense basis and although I don't have the time to fact check it seems erroneous.

  • Gold Likely Entering A Deflationary Spiral [View article]
Yes author, we may indeed begin a deflationary spiral. I highly doubt gold will do so (on its own) but rather w every other asset class. You should lever up and go short. Sell some OOM puts while your at it...

  • Nokia (NOK) has reached a deal to buy Siemens' (SI) 50% stake in Nokia Siemens for a price below €2B ($2.6B), 3 sources tell Bloomberg. Nokia will reportedly use a bridge loan to help finance the deal, which gives a lower valuation to the telecom equipment JV than those typically provided by analysts (I, II). Though the deal will affect Nokia's net cash position (€4.5B at the end of Q1), investors might react favorably, given the price, NSN's profitability, and that fact the business is seen as having less risk attached than Nokia's phone ops. I've never owned NOK. Looking at the long term chart it looks like it could potentially break-out at 5 or so. Why would I buy before then ?

  • Goldman assembles a list of 25 dividend favorites with unusually high volatility - meaning put sellers are getting a hefty premium for agreeing to buy the stock at a lower price.
