  • Crown Castle International In Jeopardy Of Paring Down Fundamentals  [View article]
Remembered your article and had to pull it back up given their recent weakness. It would seem investors don't seem too enthused on their proposal to covert to a REIT status (?) No PLR has been received as yet so it will be interesting to see how the IRS responds but I find it intriguing that CCI has pushed up the conversion date to Jan. 2014. What's the rush?
Full disclosure I am short this name.

I've been following the bottom forming in $BDI since February and trading $NAT with a 6% dividend. Less bankruptcy fear and oil play. http://bit.ly/1aINadR

  • Has CNBC Lost Its Mojo?  [View article]
Having Cramer on in the morning was not a good move (I've stopped watching) and they've yet to truly fill the gaping hole with the passing of Mark Haines. .

  • The "Fed put" stocks have enjoyed for the past four years will fade in H2 and send the S&P 500 below 1,400 by year's end, Wells Fargo's Gina Martin Adams believes. If the economy improves, expect the Fed to be more hard pressed in justifying near-zero interest rates and easing efforts; mere chatter about an unwind in 2014 will be enough to weigh on stocks.  [View news story]
It'll be interesting no doubt **IF** what they say is true and the Fed represents 60% of the market right now, the remaining 40% being stock buybacks and true purchasers.

  • Short sales on S&P 500 stocks fall to 5.6% of shares available, according to Bespoke. It's the lowest ratio since at least 2007 and compares to a record 12% amid the financial crisis. "When you have a market where investors are all in, there will no longer be short covering," says one money manager.  [View news story]
zerohedge and dshort need to crank up the bear mobile; we need more shorts for fuel to head higher. *lol*

  • SodaStream (SODA) announces a deal with Ocean Spray Cranberries to license juice blend products for its home beverage system. The products will hit the U.S. and Canada market in the second half of 2013.  [View news story]
Drew The other 800 pound gorilla in the room (and yes this one's female) would be the Mr. Coffee effect. Once the new innovation everyone "had to have", within a brief period of time how many alternative coffee makers had been created? Certainly SODA gets props for the invention however by no means will the wheel not continue to be replicated if not (possibly) improved by competitors *if* truly embraced by the consumer. I currently have no position in SODA and would trade it if a setup arose however for me it would be just that; a trade. Not an investment.

  • FOMC Minutes: Opponents of the Fed's QE program are increasingly outspoken, but there's no apparent swaying of the minds of the majority. Several argue for a tapering of purchases before the employment situation substantially improved.  [View news story]
The Feds action in rates always lags the market. Watch the 30 year. http://bit.ly/11VOxW2 It's most likely another fake out however if (when) the market begins to price in a hike the 30 year will reflect same and the Fed's hike will follow. Most likely later in the year. Overall however the minutes appear to have more of a hawkish tone than anyone wanted to hear.

CEO pay-to-worker pay scales have become ridiculous and everyone knows it. Disgusting.

  • 3D Systems (DDD -5.8%) spikes lower after Citron Research declares it a "bubble stock" in a new report (.pdf). The short-seller compares the current hype surrounding 3D printing to the dot.com, real estate, and alternative energy bubbles, criticizes 3D's low R&D spending and aggressive M&A strategy (so have some SA writers), and accuses management of providing a torrent of misleading promotional rhetoric. Also lower: SSYS -6.3%. XONE -2.1%. PRLB -7.7%[View news story]
"Justin Beiber vibrator"? That's just hilarious stuff. Overvalued? Yep. Bubble? Probably however like all bubbles, it's momo until it's not.

  • The NYT's John Broder takes Tesla's (TSLA) Model S up and down the East Coast from Washington on Interstate 95, where the company has installed Supercharger stations 200 miles apart. Things start dandily enough, but then the weather cools, and Broder has to endure freezing feet and white knuckles because he has to turn the heating off to preserve power. Eventually, he needs a tow truck to pick him up because the car runs out of juice[View news story]
So a "care and proper usage" training program should come with each car? Clearly it's not a perfect science at this juncture.
