While Tesla Heads Into The Valley Of Death, Kandi Has Already Crossed [View article]
I am not familiar with Kandi, but from my own business experience here I have to point out that anyone without the knowledge how business is done in China should pay very much attention to their off-balance sheet agreements, especially those called "reciprocal loan-guarantees". Different business entities give guarantees to each other to trick the Chinese banking system to get easy loans. Such guarantees do not appear on balance sheets and are the easiest to hide from auditors. This kind of conduct is so popular that I do not know any businessman from Zhejiang Province not involved. Unfortunately as Patrick Chovanec stated, the dominoes are falling. http://bit.ly/Mqcei0
Also, local governments here tend to have great ambitions but their memories are as good as 80-year-old with Alzheimer's especially when they are financially constraint and busy mending black holes left by those credit guarantee companies.
Is Kandi another scam debunked by Sharesleuth or bankrupted because of other entitie's demise or the investment of the decade? I do not know. I choose pass because of the system risks haunted in my nightmares.
The Wanxiang Transaction Is Not Necessarily A Permanent Solution For A123's Problems [View article]
It is so great that a real expert explains those complicated and uncanny clauses to me. Thank you so much!
And I speculate though A123's batteries are expensive to make, Wanxiang still thinks it's worthy to acquire them because Wanxiang could not find any other company with an affordable chemistry.

In axpw's presentation page 18, if used alone, the PbC could last 40k micro-cycles (considered as 4 equivalent years of service) while without cranking responsibility it managed to live through 100k cycles. Therefore it is very reasonable and economic wise for OEMs' PbC with a cheap small starter battery solution.
Is It Time For The Next China Growth Scare? [View article]
Industrial Electricity declined 17.02% YoY in Feb 2013. However the Chinese new year on Feb 10 may be the culprit as the last new year day aka 2012 spring festival fell on January, thus creating seasonality people using Gregorian calendar may fail to understand(http://bit.ly/ZCApty).
The industrial electricity consumption for the first two months 2013 from Chinese National Energy Administration indicates a thin increase of 4.2% over 2012, not great, probably bad, but definitely not ugly IMO.

Every company can stop paying their employees for a week in order to claim a positive cash flow for that week. And how much big oils and big coals pay you to troll around as electricity is generated by NG and coal?
Thanks as always. When A123's bankrupt story became a case study of any business school, your article would be the must-read. And I am so lucky to get it for free.
Actually, many "suicides" in foxconn are probably man made "suicides". Ironically, the two people you mentioned in this article have signs of brutal violence or kind of knife wounds on their corpses(You can read all these from public Chinese media sources).
Suicides, though not good at all, are way much better than murders. And the government cares nothing about lives of pathetic ordinary Chinese people especially when foxconn could pay its taxes and make Fxxking GDP go up.
Dude, never comment on Chinese affairs when you literally know nothing about China.
Sorry for my English, as I have been a Chinese since my birth.

If they could conduct a phase III trail with 6 people (let us not forget their partners have many employees) why would they ever want to hire extra hands now? And if the trail turns out to be good, why would you think they would not hire extra men and build a sales team while waiting the FDA's final approval as everyone complains how slowly that process is ? For an orphan drug, they really do not need a big sales team and a big way sales campaign. People's faith/aversion in a company can not change its lead drug's efficacy. That is the beauty of the game. And wise investors have multiple ways to protect their investment along the hype cycle.

Adam, you could be right with wrong reasons and I-told-ya-so is only a childish game. If you really want to help, please provide some real food for thought.
The Panasonic presentation is about ONE cell tested under ideal conditions, C/3 charge, probably at constant 25C. But a real battery car has a huge battery string (string equalization problem), needs a delicate BMS and should be operable at all temps. I hope those Tesla super charger lovers understand super charger of any kind could substantially damage the battery pack.
I am not saying the battery Telsa uses could not hold up as planned. But the Panasonic presentation is not convincing.
As every Tesla article seems to be some kind of magnet. I just left my points and won't ever bother responding.
Why Exide Could Be A Compelling Speculative Buy [View article]
Exide spent around 100 million in capex mainly for future market opportunities like start-stop agms and tubulor products. CFO has stated several times in the past they only need less than 35 million capex to stay afloat. The real problem is will Exide sacrifice current share holders to restructure its balance sheet like C&D tech did not too long ago?
